Hello. I am buying a 2006 Blast tomorrow (Wednesday) I know nothing about bikes except how to move them & put gas in them. I am looking to customize my Buell & I have no clue where to start LOL!!!! Not in a big hurry, But I will be moving on this project. I am sure I will be beating up the message boards 24/7. I do know that I want to change the plastics on the bike asap. If anyone can point me in a direction I would be most grateful. Thanks to everyone in advance & I will be chatting with you all......

Lynn - Welcome, this is a great place.

Mayorfkd - I love my Blast. Do you know how to ride it? Taken the MSF class? Plastics are easy to change. What color do you want?

Holy cow! This is quite a flock of new Badwebbers!
Welcome all!

Bzbuell, I just did a Blast rocker box gasket last Friday.
Not hard but a bit of a pain in the rear. The hardest part was scrapping off the old paper gasket that is probably cooked onto the head and rockerbox.....
Must have went through at least 5 razor blades..

Good luck!

Hello! My name is Eduardo, I am 38 years old, living in the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I am happy owner of a XB9SX 2007. When buying a motorcycle won a troop of friends. The friendship grew and carry out the dream of participating in homecoming 2008! I would like to thank all the loving reception of us, the "Brazilians" in the 25th anniversary. We were surprised with the organization, with beautiful walks by region, by visiting the factory, and even more so with the simplicity of Mr. Erick. I see you guys next year!

Richard and Eduardo:

THANK YOU for joining us for the Buell 25th Anniversary Homecoming.

I've been participating in Buell Homecomings since there were only about 17 Buells and it's been fabulous to see it grow into a worldwide event of friends.

Brazil and The Netherlands both figure big in Buell history and the group that Dris and Martin put together to travel to the USA was fabulous. From the time Vickie and I had dinner with Dris and Gea in New York I knew he was hooked and would be at the Homecoming!

I was REALLY impressed to have met so many folks from Brazil (by the way I am dying to get my hands on one of those White Brazil shirts. If you know where I can get one I'll trade Buell shirts)

Thank you again for joining us and I hope to see all of you again next year.

Ride safe,
Court Canfield

I hope that goofy "bar fly" lady at the hotel bar didin't scare you off for a return trip sometime!

Hi all,
New Raleigh, NC Buell owner here (XB12R). It's my first Buell and all of the comments and technical suggestions helped me greatly when deciding on a Buell versus other non-American sport bikes.

After much trolling the forum as a guest I joined the BadWeb last week and I have already made some new "friends" on the Storm Front forum (Carolina Corner Carvers). For you newbies, I highly recommend you make contact with your local group through the Storm Front. The C3 group has been very receptive and inviting.

Big "Hey All" to my brothers & sisters out there on Buells.

New here to BadWeb, but have owned my XB12R since May of 2006. Met a couple fellow Buellers at our local yearly "Bike Night" in Elkhart, IN on Saturday the 12th, who told me about this site and I'm glad to finally be able to talk with other Buell lovers.
We had the Buell Stunt team here. And they put on another great show (were here last year as well).

Hope to get to meet more of ya both here on the boards and get some riding in with others in and around the Northern part of Indiana and Southern part of Michigan. Heck for that matter a distance ride would be good for me. Have bike......will travel!!

Howdy,

New to the site so I figured I'd introduce myself. I've had my '04 buell XB12s for about a month now, was sort of impartial to the idea of owning one at first, but now I can't seem to get enough of it. A friend introduced me to the site and I look forward to meeting / riding with all you crazy buellers : )

I now own a 1995 THUNDERBOLT S2 & Let me tell you, I waited too long(36yoa) to get a bike. I am positively hooked. And my Pearl White S2 is quite a catch! I just need to find some info on it now!

I'm new to BadWeatherBikers, but have had my blue 2000 Buell Cyclone for a while. I was in attendence at the Buell 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Sheraton in Brookfield, WI a few weeks ago (with my dog "Fred" who met a lot of you there). I was amazed at the great fellowship and comraderie between Buell'ies! All in all, it was a great time. I learned a tremendous amount about Buell history from the 25th Anniversary book that I bought at the Buell assembly plant tour. I look forward to seeing you all on group Buell rides and other Buell events in the future.

Hey there. It is I. The owner of the best Buell.. The 2002 Volcano Gray and Orange M2.
OK.. There you have it.

I am half kidding. I love them all. And I am just about on the verge of picking up a 1125. Love them. Trade in the 2000 HD FXSTD I have sitting in the garage. Nice for a Chrome'er but no where near the fun of a buell. My bud Fred (post above) and I were at the 25'th and it was great. Good friends and good times.

Hi.

I've been a Harley owner for the past 6 years. I currently have a customized '02 Road King, '06 Sportster Custom, and an '03 Blast.

I just bought the Blast as a learner for my wife. She is really enjoying it. Even though it's an '03, it only had 293 miles on it and even had a windshield.

The stable:

1125R and Stricken!

Had my first ride on an 1125R this past weekend....WOW!!! What a difference between that and my Buell Blast!

First stop...down on the range to become familiar with how it handled in slow speed maneuvers...the box, the S-curve...yes! Then off to the back roads and windy twisties.

Don't know much about the sporty Buells and couldn't tell how they're supposed to ride. I do have a question or two on the 1125R:
- Does Buell have better hand grips to help absorb the vibrations coming through the handlebars?
- What causes the tremendous heat buildup after such a short period of time?

I experienced first hand the heat problems noted in the 1125R. After 16 miles, the frame holding the fuel became too hot to handle leaving burns on my legs, where they came in contact with the frame. Is this an issue with the individual bike or symptomatic with the 1125R in general?

I had my heart set on getting an 1125R, but the heat and vibrations issues will have to be worked out, first.

Life's too short not to have fun...let's ride!

Color me...gone puttin'

Purchased XB9SX yesterday with 8 miles. Added another 100 on it today!! Wanted Kick Ash with black frame but thats not an option on the 09s. Oh well I'll have to deal with a 25th Anniversary edition.

Hello everyone,
Ex biker brought back to the sport by escalating gas prices. My last bike 20 odd years ago was a 350cc single, italian made bike retailed by Harley, a 1974 Sprint. It just seemed natural to buy the later day replacement for it a Buell Blast. So I found a 2005 that was dropped by a new rider and left in the garage for 3 years with 197 miles on it. Only had it for a couple weeks so far but its been a lot of fun.

I just purchased a 2008 XB12X from Calumet HD/Buell. I will pick it up tomorrow. I have not ridden in 18 years. However, I raced motocross, flat track (indoor and outdoor) and some road races since I was 12 years old.

When I was first married and before the kids can along, my wife and I logged about 125K miles on my old R100 S BMW. I stopped ridding and sold the bike when the kids arrived.

One boy is finished with Collage and the other is a high school senior and now we again have time to ride.

Thought about a new R1200 S BMW but there was just something about the Thunderstorm. It just seems a little rough around the edges and the BMW may just be a little to refined. Kinda hard to explain. It must be the turning 51?

I look forward to riding again and getting out with the wife.

I will touch bases after I get some mile under my belt.

Hello all,I am thinking of buying a BEULL as my first street bike.I have ridden dirtbikes and currently ride 4 wheelers with my family.I ride a kawasaki Vforce and love the V twin power.
I am 6 foot 2 inches tall @ about 255 lbs.
I have never ridden a street bike with the lay down type riding position and I am worried I wont like it or it will be to cramped for me.
Any help or input on this seating position on the Beull bikes or if one is better for bigger people would be great thanks.

hello,my name is Kevin. I've been riding and crashing for a while now.30+ years.I really need to quit the crashing part.It hurts.I own a Blast that I bought my wife in '03 from a Harley dealer that I just found out today, that 7/31/08 is their last day servicing/selling Buells. My next closest dealer is an hour away. This dealer was 30 mins. I am an aspiring 1125R owner. Maybe in '09. I rode the bike numerous times at an intro trackday @ V.I.R. in Sept. last year, and thought it was a good package.I'm torn though, if I buy one, how can I justify taking a $12K bike , stripping it, wiring it, and likely crashing it, while racing it,or practicing...??? or should I just ride it responsibly on the street...? decisions, decisions... I just found this site today.Someone referenced it on the SuperHawk forum, and I made a point to check it out. It appears to be a good resource for my Buell passion.I have a passion for ALL motorcycles though...thanx for the site !I look forward to being a part of it...
