Hello
I just wanted say hello and thank everyone for all the information. I am 47 years old and ride a 02 S3T
volcano gray and nuclear blue frame and wheels (only Thunderbolt this color combo on earth according to the dealer)
I just completed a saddle sore 1000 with it (see attachment) This is a letter I just received from the iron butt road boss. It was a great ride and the bike ran great.
I have owned several bikes the latest was a FJR1300 and a 03 RoadKing but the S3T is the most FUN to ride! SEE YAA Jack
Attachment is too big. It just say's I completed the ride 1050 miles in 18hours 24 minutes. The ride went around Lake Superior!

Hi Folks,

Another new guy here. I've been lurking around for a while, although I've had my bike since '03. (Just found this forum this year, and it seems like a good bunch of people, so I finally joined.) It is a 2001 M2 in Volcano Gray/Black, mostly stock accept for the V&H exhaust and a K&N filter. It's been a great bike for the most part, except that I've had to have it into the dealer twice now to correct the previous owners tweaking (wrong jet, plugs, etc.) Also had the volt regulator replaced. I'm getting a printed history from the dealership so I can check on recalls. If anyone knows where I can get a service manual I would appreciate a heads up. I'm not a very good mechanic, but I can muddle through things pretty well with a good book. I look forward to chatting more with people and maybe meeting up for rides in the area (Duluth/Superior).

Chris

Made a few initial posts in the XB forum, but wanted to make an official entry into the world of the Badweatherbikers. I have been riding sportbikes for roughly 5 years and all have previously been Japanese inline 4's. I knew that I had been wanting to try a V-twin for a little while and decided to go and test ride the American Motorcycle. And that was that, I never looked back, went home, told the wife I was trading bikes, yada, yada, yada, and now I own a 2004 XB12R with the race kit. Amazing bike, amazing sound, amazing handling..... and the list could go on forever, but you guys already know that. Thanks for having me...
Is Court's last name Canfield? (weird ? I know, just wondering)

Hello all. I finally decided to register up on this site. Seems like there is a lot of good information here.

Anyways, I just bought a Buell Firebolt XB12R about a month and hlf ago. It is the funest thing ever that I have gotten. I really did want the black one, but for the price, I settled on the red one.

Feel free to hit me up or e-mail. I am an open person.

Hi all

Bought an '04 XB12S just two weeks ago. Fourth bike in my lifetime. Progressively larger displacements as the years went by and this one comes after fourteen years of non riding. It's a pleasure to be back!

No question this is the most money I ever spent on a bike but also possibly the best purchase I ever made! What a blast! Okay, what a Lightning!

Anyway, the previous owner and a buddy with an XB9S turned me on to this site. I've seen a lot of useful info presented on this board. It's a pleasure to be here.

Sorry I can't post a picture. Can't seem to figure out how to shrink one under the 60kb limit. I'll try later. Anyway, it's time to ride...

OK ok, outted as a Superhawk rider with a touring bent. Figured I will say hello. I hope to check in regularly. This seems like a good place and everyone I've met have been great folks.

Buells...only ridden a Buell once on Ortega Hwy (and I know Court); not sure this recommends me but...hey I can try. 8-)

Took up riding in 1984 when my son, Nate (then age 12), talked me into it. Yep, it's true.

Started visiting online about m/c riding on Prodigy in 1988.

Live local to the LA basin but prefer wide open spaces particularly the southwest. Also Northern Nevada and for sure Wofford Heights (CA Hwy 155 & 190 are both amazing roads).

The local so Cal roads are great but there's like 30 million people around here trying to get on 'em. Especially in San Diego county. Sniffle.

Favorite all time twisty (don't tell anyone) is CA Hwy 168 east out of Independence over to Nevada and back. Black Diamond, 3D stuff. Great yoyo. Once you've been over it a dozen or so times there's a drop-away uphill, offcamber lefthander, westbound corner that makes an insane flying opportunity. Fully leaned over, both wheels off the ground (on a Wing). Uhm, don't try this at home?

There's a couple of real contenders in Utah as well. Utah Hwy 12 = 100 miles of m/c nirvana.

I guess other than a blue Stich and Thurlow gloves that about covers it for a bio.

Oh, my name is Russ and I am an opalholic.

Hi Russ, thought that was you when you started talking about 168 & insane flying. Ah, you didn't mention anything about those insane flat sliding rock chips on that road!
Enjoyed meeting you at Laguna and hope to see you at Octoberfast! The Loveshack was fantastic wasn't it!
Welcome aboard.

Hey Glenn...enjoyed meeting you too.

>> Hi Russ, thought that was you when you started talking about 168 & insane flying. Ah, you didn't mention anything about those insane flat sliding rock chips on that road! <<

Ah, c'mon...I'm supposed to tell everything?

There's only three such places and they're always the same. How hard can that be to figure, eh?

8-)

I do highly recommend prerunning Hwy 168 as a sighting "lap" to pick up exactly these patches. They are pieces of shale that shed onto the road and get squashed into small plates as autos run them over. Occur mostly on the westbound side of the road.

Uhm, how about the glimpse of a view nearly over the top of the Sierras. Didja notice that?

(this is a test)

-Russ

Hello All:

After a few months of following the antics and the great knowledge base of this forum I have decided to finally join in on the fun. I live in Southern BC Canada, lots of great mountain roads to twist and turn on. I recently traded my trusty 03 Blast for the XB9SX and I am loving every minute of it. I am always looking for fellow Buellers to ride or compare notes with.

welcome Waterworks, nice bike. : )

not sure if you know about the annual Border Raid ride in your neighborhood, coming up in about a month. here's a link that will take you to the right thread in Strom Fronts:

Border Raid

the topic starts with the '04 ride, and they are now working out final details of this year's ride.

ride to lean,
Ferris

Congrats Malleus! I love my 9sx.

Don't spill gas on the tank. But when you do, don't panic, it'll clean up with Novus 2 and harley sealer glaze.
