what a fabulous bike Erik put together for us unworthy Americans, not just a heavy hitter on the top end but an absolute torque monster. Only in his home town and in his own house is a prophet without honor.... I still to this day don't understand how the USA doesn't make a sportbike or love the one it did make, briefly |

Where did the SX/RX power difference come from? |

Different dyno I think, the Panigale and EBR were tested on the same dyno though |

Really boggles my mind how analog things still were in 2104-2017 and since 2017 what a MASSIVE step in electronics (and HP) we've made. 150hp is now a big ADV bike!? WHAAAAA??? And I 1000% agree the graph tells a much different story than the peak # bs.

EBR was THAT far ahead of their time. Companies are still . . . 10 years later. . . .try o what Erik and a team of Elves did. |

Really impressive, still even with the XB series being designed 20 years ago and still competitive weight and HP levels to brand new mid-sized bikes. |

I'm not so sure how Erik would have faired with the new wave of mandatory electronics? 6-axis IMU? The learning curve and investment are suffocating even the biggest companies like Duc and BMW and we know how resistant HD is to change. They can't even sell a Sportster in Europe anymore. Maybe EBR was the perfect swan song at the just right time for an analog company. |

I'm not so sure I agree EBR was an "analog" company. (Disclaimer: Zero firsthand knowledge, and lots of personal opinion follows) Given how quickly Erik and some of the core elves shifted over to create the all electric Fuell products, (a very NON analog product if you ask me), I think they would have done just fine had the rug not been pulled out from under them by their unscrupulous business partner. EBR was focused on being an engineering company. Motorcycle manufacturing was just one way to raise capital when the design or consult contracts aren't coming in fast enough. Erik was quoted more than once that of the 16 bikes on the partner display at the Asia Motor show in 2014, 13 of them were built in East Troy. The product offerings Erik is interested in today have evolved along with with the 2 wheel transportation industry. I still don't hear a swan song, just the same steady beat, but on a different drum. |

an ABS prototype bike had already been built by the time they ceased primary operation so I also don't think EBR should be thought of as an analog company, just electronically limited by fundage |

Full disclosure. Own an RX and SX. Never did come to grips (no pun intended) as to why the granularity of 21 levels of TC - unless an advantage in a racing application. Also how that level of TC and no ABS. I know it was coming, but would think it's kinda a hand-in-hand thing from an engineering standpoint. |

probably because TC can be done purely electronically, even if not ideal, with fuel and ignition timing but ABS requires additional infrastructure on the bike (read: $$$) |
