New 2014 1190SX ODO showed 2 miles, now 30 miles LOL, changed oil and filter.
Detail from the drain pan. So shiny and sparkly! |

Yikes!! I've never owned new. Is this a result of normal break-in wear or ??? |

Yeah at 64 only my 2nd new bike ever. Hoping it's just left over manufacturing swarf. More common than you might think. With 5 years just sitting around, thought a quick warm up then change oil was cheap insurance, and really wanted to see it. Quite a back story on this one, but bike was from a dealer that had a fresh water flood. AFAIK about axle deep water. Everything feels, acts great no rust corrosion anywhere. Will keep a close eye out for a while. No milky look to oil, whew.

Nice bike! Since it had been in flood waters, you should look into this: Some 2014s had a problem with the starter motor end caps not sealing completely thus allowing water to seep in and corrode the brush holders causing them to hang up and cause no-start issues. The fix is fairly easy to do involving removing the starter, opening it up, cleaning any rusty/corroded parts if any and resealing the unit with silicone sealer or other type of sealer. |
