The SX is a very tempting bike, I have a CR. The 1125 heat resolution issues include; fans blowing on the frame, aerogel insulation on the frame/gas wrapping around the engine, and lastly ceramic coating the headers. Do the Rotax bikes have ceramic coated frames? If not why not? |

RX and SX dont have the heat issues that the 1125 had. |

"RX and SX dont have the heat issues that the 1125 had." How come? just the radiator-fan setup? |

The cooling system is more efficient. |

Can confirm, my SX puts less heat onto the frame and rider than my 1125s. The cooling system works so well that the "engine cold" message appears while on the highway in the rain. (Message edited by Froggy on June 25, 2016) |

While...after retuning my CR, it didn't run objectionably hot at all...my RX runs..."seemingly" cooler. Don't know for sure because of the lack of a gauge..! But, last Monday (SoCal), my shins/knees were cook'en pretty well in 108 ambient air and in the proverbial "rush hour" traffic for about 45 minutes. There was also a check engine light and a (1134 or 35 or 36 something) code shown. I cleared it that night and all was well the next morning. Ran (apparently) fine even with the Check light and code. Think I'm gonna hunt down a temp. gauge. Mike |

I can assure you your right calf gets a fair amount of heat on it... |

Terry - Actually...no..! After wrapping the exhaust system in the newer DEI, Volcanic Wrap, the heat is pretty equal, side to side..! Mike |

I'm saying the 1190RX in general and a lot of it come from the fan. The fan duct design works but a lot of the hot air just ends up on your legs. |

Terry - Per your preceding note, "both" sides are pretty equal...not just the "right" side...as you note..! But in general, yes, both sides get radiator heat from the marginal ducting design. Not sure what else they could have done with the radiator placement. Mike |
