TPS is done without software and no it will not work on the RX. - Turn the ignition on and set the kill switch to the run position - don't start the engine - Gently force the throttle to fully closed - Take the throttle to fully open, hold firmly for 1 second. - Take the trottle back to fully closed and hold 1 second - Repeat (fully open, fully closed) 3 times - Turn the ignition off - Turn the ignition on - let idle for 10 minutes to relearn |

EBR also said you have to wait at least 3 or 4 seconds when the ignition is off before turning it on after the 3 turns. I don't remember exactly but it's in the instructions. |

Are these 1125R/CR instructions vs. RX/SX instructions ? I may have missed them but I see no instructions for the RX/SX TPS reset in the repair manual or the users manual. I believe, like cars, the software does this on its own..!? Mike |

1125 = 1190 for TPS reset. Same procedure. |

The 1190s, just like the 1125s and later XBs will periodically self calibrate so a TPS reset is not needed, but the procedure above is the steps to manually do it. Typically you would only need to do it after swapping the ECM, TPS, throttle body, or similar parts, but even then you likely can get away without doing it.

That is not needed for the TPS reset. The bike also self calibrates its idle, so letting it sit for 10 minutes gives it a chance to do that but it also will do it during normal usage. |

I received no instructions for a TPS adjustment from IDSP after buying their "race" ECM. I just plugged it in, turned the key, pushed the button. It started and idled fine. Took it out for a short cruze and all was well, been fine ever since. Pretty similar to Froggys comment. Mike |
