If you don't, the throttle butterflies can flutter at WOT, robbing some power. All the "race" ECM since the first Buell ones have the "noid" disabled with no DTCs generated. That is what I gleaned in response on other site. Discussion there was the need (or no need) to tie the two throttle bodies together. I tied them together.
