As the title says the speed does not display and the horn does not work. I just bought the bike maybe I am doing something wrong but thought I would post here to get some insight. The bike has the exhaust delete and EBR race ECM. thanks |

Speedo and horn are on the same fuse (along with brake light if I remember right). Check the fuse |

ECM (looking from the connection side) The connector on the right the second wire on each row if you were counting from left to right they all have continuity to ground. The corresponding prong (on the ECM) all have continuity to the two orange wires connected to the fuse block ( for the speedo/horn fuse ). I don't think it is supposed to be this way! I have no service manual. I also independently checked each component looking for a ground and did not find one, only at the ECM. I called a EBR dealer and as usual as useful as a set of tits on a bull. In the future if you are a Harley dealer you should automatically be disqualified from selling EBR. People who sell 1900s technology have no business trying to support this stuff. |

I have determined that the race ECM is grounding the horn/speedo circuit |

The ECM controls sensors, lights, pumps etc. by switching the grounds. This has been an issue for high current devices like the fans. I have yet to find anything where the hot is switched other than headlights and starter. Really makes chasing a ground problem more vexing. Z |

Check your speed sensor on the rear wheel. I bet your three wires got cooked by the exhaust. |
