Best bet now would be to buy one from a dealer. Some dealers likely have them in stock, if not I think they can still order them. | ||

I was able to obtain the EBR manual USB stick ... surprisingly its just a bunch of videos. WOuld be nice if when you were checking valve it gave you list of every video you need to get the the point of adjusting the valve. I also purchased a 2010 1125 paper manual so perhaps that can fill in some gaps. | ||

Agreed, pretty strange way of doing things. This method does answer a few small questions, but nothing's connected to the thing next to it. In many cases it doesn't matter, but in some cases, it would be of help if the step previous was right there without having to hunt for it. I also have the 1125 manual... Mike | ||

My Throttle bodies were replaced at 86 miles due to DTC's. I found that when the technician reinstalled the TB clamps they were not positioned correctly and the butterflys only were opening 50%. I had a heck of a time loosening, moving and then retightening those clamps. Now in the video I see all I needed was a really long Philips head screw drive to do it easily. Oh well. | ||

Dmhines- I was wondering if it was just me or if there was anyone else a little disappointed with the service manual. The videos are nice and all but it would be nice to have some spec's on tolerances and electrical trouble shooting tree. | ||

I believe their plan was to introduce it in 2 parts, with electrical and diagnostic information to follow in the second portion. Unfortunately, it seems that limited resources delayed the second portion from being released at the same time as the chassis portion of the manual. | ||

The USB stick service manual is very disappointing. I was expecting videos and a 400 page PDF of diagnostics and repair instructions and specs. There is no way you could use this to repair an EBR. Somebody at EBR or a dealer needs to release the documents that were supposedly available to dealers only. I did purchase a 2010 1125R manual so I have a few more holes filled in. | ||

For the (limited) content the USB service manual has, the format is novel. I love the 'interactive' engine section that drills down to the individual component. It would've been nice to have a similar format for the chassis parts. the documents that were supposedly available to dealers only That's the part that really chaps my hide... I'm about 2 & 1/2 hours away from the closest dealer, which was also the dealer where I bought my RX from. Traveling that distance for something that I'm perfectly capable of is - or should be - an unrealistic inconvenience. I used up all my favors in getting rides from and to the dealership that someone actually told me 'You need a trailer' - F THAT!!! I could see if all the dealership service people had specialized EBR Factory Training, it might make some sense. That would have definitely been good info to compliment the USB service manual. Likewise, if I didn't have the full compliment of service literature for my 1125CR I don't know what I'd do... 1313 | ||

Mike... I probably should have said "Can I muddle through with just the 1125 manual". I'm going from Tube-Frames to the SX, skipping the XB's and 1125, and since the Dealer doesn't have one I'm going to have to wing it. Of course, when I got my first tuber it was a while before I got my hands on an owners manual and still don't have a service manual. | ||

Funny how things have changed when owners get desperate. A year ago when ever someone would even hint at the similarity between an 1125 and a 1190 they were castigated to no end. Now.....guess it is a different day. This is 1 reason I never pulled the handle on a 1190SX though I wanted to. If you are not making printed manuals you are not in the service industry. Reason 2 is the closest dealer is the one Ron bought his from. The 2 reasons together mean no sale to Dana. If I can't get to the dealer without turning it into a weekend trip and there are no manuals for me to do it at home. This will not fly. Ron I really hope you enjoy your bike. | ||

Like y'all I've heard of but haven't seen the videoFSM. I will get the videos soon, I'm sure. I do have a parts manual, in PDF. Thanks again old Bueller.  The parts manual has very good exploded diagrams with torque values. It shows how it all goes together without a trip to the movie theater. Zack | ||

BTW The manuals I got are all for the 1190RS. There are specific manuals for the production bikes that are different. I will need to find those manuals too in case we ever have to work on one. Z | ||

Zack, if you can find the manuals for an SX you will be handsomely rewarded! I'm not floating in money mind you, but I definitely want to have as much documentation as there is for the SX and I am willing to pay for them. In the meantime I'll take the RS Docs if for no other reason than to start an EBR Collection. | ||

Keep in mind, the RS has quite a few engine parts from the 1125s that the RX/SX do not. The RX/SX chassis is at least 80% different than the RS. They all use the 1125 race chain swingarm with the axle adjuster. I know it's the same because it has the wedge you remove to slide the belt thru the swingarm. a chain won't fit. BTW, I find the RS' chain has no master-link. race rules?? Pondering an 1125R swingarm and sprockets to make the RS a belt-drive. Z | ||

I can't quite visualize what you mean. How do the videos work? Are they interactive, meaning you point and click on components and it shows you the procedure? Or is it a narrative type of video or walk-through? | ||

Should be: I love the 'interactive' engine parts section that drills down to the individual component. Picture an exploded view of the engine. You hover over a system and that system is highlighted. Click on the highlighted system and it takes you down one level to sub-system and continue down until you get to the individual component you want the part number info for. Videos are pretty much a list broken down by primary vehicle system with a clickable link. Each video is mp4 format with narrative while the operation is performed. The videos that I've reviewed show either Kemp or Danny performing the service procedure - although that might be TMI... What you are describing sounds pretty darn cool... 1313 | ||

Indeed it was good news. I have received my genuine EBR service manual. I have viewed a few videos too. No torque specs, no wiring diagram? No pages to leave my filthy fingerprints on?! Who is responsible for this? The great news is it leads me to believe that valve lash can be done in frame rather easily. | ||

I don't know if this is common knowledge but if you have an iPhone and would like to carry around what's in your Owner's and/or Service Manual, there is an app called FileApp available in the iTunes Store which can upload files from USB drives. It uses your computer and iTunes to manage the PDF, video and other types of files. | ||
