I'm curious what everyone keeps there traction control set at for normal riding. I don't want to limit the engine to much but I don't think I want to turn it off just yet. And does any one have any explanation of What the different levels do? |

turn it off, you'll be fine, i don't normally run it at all, if the roads are wet I may kick it to 3 just for peace of mind. |

Mine...from level 1 (actually 3) to level 10 had the same effect...dropping the power across the entire rpm range, about the same amount, no matter the level. Turning off the Traction Control, changed everything about the way the engine runs, it even sounds better at idle...yes idle. Much smoother, less choppy. My neighbor even noticed it. Mine's not going to be turned back on any time soon, if ever. Don't worry about turning it off..! EVERY...motorcycle EVER made that has a transmission in it, has had traction control..! Just put the transmission in the next higher gear.. if you aren't good at throttle control. If it starts raining and you normally have the transmission in 3rd gear (say in town), put it into forth...that's traction control, less power to the rear wheel. AND...it just takes a second to turn it off...kick it back into third..! Mike |

Mine is turned off, I will turn it on 2 or 3 when I take it to the track. Rain is a different story, I would turn it on 5 or 6 in wet conditions. |

Thanks for the info, I'm new to riding a super bike and I guess the power makes me a little nervous. I spent many years on a HD vrod, which I could dump the throttle and didn't really worry about the front coming up. |

Had the back end step out a little bit on my 1190RX on the way to work this morning. TC set on 2. It was on my own - grass covered - 'driveway'. The traction controls I was born with (throttle hand and clutch hand) intervened and saved the day, 1313 |

Ugh .. I hate when people cut their lawn and there are grass clippings all over the street ... at least it was your own drive way. :-) Not sure why folks are fined for littering for blowing the grass in the street. |
