Random picture post on reddit today. I'll leave the jokes about interchangeability of parts between the 1125R and 1190RX to others The bike looks insane, jdugger. |

dapper sumbish I had to start laughing, I'm your' huckleberry. The angle of the bike and pic workout brilliantly. Just stunning. Parts interchangeability, I've seen a hemi put in a chevy. Everything is interchangeable. 1190/1125 is easier than others. Better do your homework before moving to the darkside though. If you are smart enough to get an 1190 to live very long at 205 mph it's probably a cakewalk.
While we're thread jacking; I need the AX to run at over 230 mph and would prefer 259.

Woah... where did you find this? Move over, how did you know it was me?!?! The pic had to have been taken either last weekend or on Thursday -- the bike hasn't been together but for a couple of weeks. Racing this weekend at Eagles Canyon Raceway. |

I'm not being a creeper, honest! I hang out on reddit and happened to see this posting: http://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/2405j h/eagles_canyon_raceway_oc_1000x716_slidell_texas/ I remembered seeing the pic of your freshly-built 1190 in one of the threads here; I couldn't recall what board it was on, though- I wanted to post it in that same thread just to mess with you, but since I was on my phone, the going was rough. The bike is distinctive enough that I recognized it in the thumbnail- it's got red, white, and blue like the Honda RCs of old, but the front fairing's silhouette still looks like a fat person riding away from you on a small bicycle |

Jdugger, beautiful paint! why have you no scoop on F brake? any RX mods you're contemplating? |

> why have you no scoop on F brake? I have a different approach to the front brake -- mine is milled out like the first EBR 1190RR ans 1125RR race special bikes. "ZTL 2.5" it was called at the time. This is back when EBR was selling race bikes made from kitted 1125r machines under license from Harley. Basically, it's the same caliper as the 1125r that's been split and then machined down to just one seal per piston. So, quite a bit of material removed. Consequently, a lot more air gets through the caliper, helping the heat build up. I would go to the scoop if I were still having heat related performance issues with the front brake; using the 1190 rotor hardware and 1190 rotor on EBR's site along with 2015 brake pads, a Brembo MC and good fluid, I'm not having issues anymore. The RX front end in total isn't a great choice for the 1125r main chassis, IMHO. It will bolt up, but you will have some part interference. So, I use 1125r fork bodies, and 1125r lower triple, but an 1190RS upper triple (billet vs. the RX cast piece) that's been machined to remove the ignition switch housing. Plus, I have AK-GAS fork internals, which are better than anything the RX will ever come with (they are $3500 dampers!), and are arguably better than even the Ohlins cartridges in the RS. So, I have very little incentive to switch! To be honest, I didn't really plan to have this much kit from the 1190, I just ended up there. As I wore out 1125r parts and as better offerings (or just knowledge) derived from the 1190RR and 1190RS programs became available on the EBR site, I just slowly migrated to those as solutions instead. Over time, I ended up with a real frankenbike that's got a lot of all kinds of stuff on it! The pegs -- never did like the woodcraft style pegs -- are Vortex pegs I machine down so I can use them with the EBR chain drive kit! The rearsets are actually from an old-style 1125r chain drive conversion kit during the Buell era, and paired up with an 1190-style swing arm kit like EBR sells now. The bike is full of "found" solutions like that. I think most race bikes are, especially ones with a source chassis as old as mine. |

I've gotten a number of complements on the paint. The design and execution by David Roy of North Texas Superbikes in Lewisville, TX. David does nice work, and is great for race support, too! Motor tune and chassis set up by Jim Cambora of Raceworx. Pretty much the best chassis guy there is! Jimmy did the Penske rear suspension and AK-GAS front. |

Beautiful, but I'm a bit behind, did you put an 1190 engine in your 1125 race bike? |

I think it's got some 1190 plastic on it. |

> Beautiful, but I'm a bit behind, did you > put an 1190 engine in your 1125 race bike? In a way. I used the 1190 big bore kit for sale on the EBR site. I had an experienced builder assemble the motor for me. I think it's closer to an RS motor than the RX, but I don't know a lot about the internal differences between the motors. Externally (from a chassis perspective), the 1125r, RS and RX motors are basically interchangeable -- they all bolt up the same. I had two seasons on my race motor and suspected it needed some attention, anyway. Turns out, we found a number of parts showing wear that we replaced. I know the shift drum, cam chains and cam chain guides were among them, so mostly ordinary items that need attention after racing. I think we put new bearings in, too, but don't remember. I'm still using the 1125r injector arrangement -- no showerhead -- and I use the fully programmable race ECM with custom developed maps for this motor. The rest of the powertrain are ordinary off-the-shelf EBR parts including the race exhaust kit that I've had for a few years now. > I think it's got some 1190 plastic on it. Actually, the bodywork isn't EBR or Buell related at all! Trevor of Flexi-Glass made that bodywork for me, and the front end is molded after an 1125r front end, but around 3 inches more narrow on both sides. |
