Anyone else have issues with insurance sticker shock? I have AllState. They only had the 1190RS in their database. I told them this is an RX. I needed a letter for finance company saying it was insured so they faxed the letter and said they would get back to me with a price quote. The ended up charging me $970 per year and had it listed as an RS not an RX. I've been going back and forth with them ever since. I explained with my Agent that an RS is $47,000 and an RX is $19,000. So I want to pay insurance on a $19K valued bike not a $47K valued bike. He went to EBRACING.com and got all the info he needed and opened up request for a new evaulation from Underwriting. Still waiting on their decision. My 2013 Ducati cost $14K and insurance on that is $450/year ... I would assume the 1190 should be just a little higher. Just to research .. I plugged in the RX VIN on GEICO for a quote .. and they had it listed correctly as an RX model ... and they wanted $2100 per year!!! |

I had no problem with www.rider.com insuring my 1190rx. It was only slightly more expensive than my XB. Not sure if they service your state, but they are now insuring 3 1190rx that have been sold here. |
