+1 Maxima Chain Wax,spray it on after a ride while the chain is warm then let cool for a few hours. Doesn't sling off like many of the other brands. | ||

If your looking for an Amsoil product, this is the chain lube. I have used it but don't have a lot of experience to make a recommendation. it seemed to go on pretty good and is tacky when it "dries". http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/other-produc ts/cleaners-and-protectants/heavy-duty-metal-prote ctor/?code=AMHSC-EA I have also had great luck with Pro Gold MFR on my mountain bike and have thought about buying their motorcycle lube to see how it works. This stuff leaves no tacky or waxy residue so it doesn't collect or build up dirt or debris which is nice on a mountain bike. EBR uses the Amsoil chain lube above on their race bikes. I actually helped them carry it out of the trailer yesterday so they can display their sponsor's stuff. As an amsoil dealer myself, I will sell anything we offer to buellers at cost. | ||

Not sure anyone is interested but on most chain drive bikes I've owned I've felt that chain maint was the most intensive part about keeping the bike healthy. Consequently, I missed doing it on time often and the chain and sprockets suffered as a result. The fix? I routed the crank case vent to the chain. The result? My chain and sprockets lasted longer than anyone I rode with. There was no "I need to lube the chain". It was always lubed. I still have one chain drive ride and it is set up like this. The other two use belt drive so on all three, little or no final drive maint! | ||

I honestly hope that one of the accessories for the RX is a belt conversion kit, I've been spoiled by them over the years. | ||

Yes, I love the belt on my old S3T. I like to kid the shaft drive guys saying it has only 3 moving parts and requires no lube. I would like to think the AX would have a belt drive when it comes out. As for the subject of chain lube, I like both Maxima chain wax and Bel Ray superclean chain lube. they are both very clean and work very well on O ring chains |
