This has to bee one of the coolest places just out side of Portland, OR. These shots are from the Shady Dell Pacific Railroad that is located in a little town called Molalla. The trains that you will find here are 1-1/2" in scale and have 3800' of track on 4 acre's. August 2004

12bolt: Your welcome! Saint Helens is an awesome ride, maybe we can hook up sometime when the weather gets better and cut a groove up the back side of the hill. Here is another pic of Saint Helens from Windy Ridge that I took in August 2001. No matter how many times I visit, I am always amazed by her beauty.

Sounds great. Even sooner if weather permits. I have only lived here about 6 months so I haven't had time to ride all the great roads but Mt. St. Helens has to be one of the top rides in the North West. |

SPLASH is "SPort Lap Around St. Helens", an annual Buell-oriented (but open to all brands) three-day ride that has happened the third weekend of July every year since 1998. it's a spin-off of Blue Groove/Northwest, a giant Buell bash that took place on and around the volcano in July '97 which featured Erik Buell, Court Canfield, Reg Kittrelle, and the late Fran Crane, along with 120 or so Buellin' Hooligans. if you surf thru the Storm Front page you'll find threads on past SPLASH rides. it's a great weekend of riding and camaraderie, and PDX Jim has been one of the principals since well before the beginning. |

This last summer here in the Portland/Vancouver area was absolutely amazing. It seemed like there was a bike night or riding event every day of the week. The photos below were taken in the month of July 2004.

Jim: Great work! Portland is a fabulous city and a well kept secret. The "City of Roses" offers about as much spectacular scenery as you can pack in one town. I used to go to Portland quite regularly in pursuit of Buell initiatives and made many long time friends, even got initiated into the local DTFR Motorcycle Club by Randy Buress and some of the folks at Intel. The local roads are awesome. The last time I as there was in connection with a movie being filmed (it had nothing to do with Buell and went no where) and the impression that sticks with me about Portland is always the people and the hospitality. By the way, sitting in NYC, with it's bridges, very few days go by that I am not reminded of Portland. Thanks for your photos. Court |

Court, Thanks for your kind words on the photos and I couldn't agree with you more about Portland. When I use to travel lots a few years back (logged just over 1,000,000 air miles in 3-1/2 years)I always looked forward to that plane ride back home. It doesn't get too much better then it does here, just wish it wouldn't rain as much as it does. Jim |

some of the pepole that i have been able to capture through the lens in and around the portland/vancouver area. one crazy dude that we met up on the back side of mount saint helens while me in the family were out on one of our adventures. this poor guy was freezing, it was only about 35 degrees and getting colder as the minutes ticked away. This is one of the first pics I took of mojoposse. After this day, they adopted me as official photog. This very fine lookin lady is mo, caught this pic of her while she was doin a bike was for one of the local bike nights in Vancouver, wa. Two of my most favorite people, bob an deb who are also badweber’s. caught this pic getting close to the end of ride that we took up to Detroit lake. Ah man, I didn’t mean to post this one, its me leaning up against my trusty bolt trying to catch my breath after chasin bob and deb all around Detroit lake. This is one of those well hidden spots in Portland. This skate park is located under the burnside bridge in downtown Portland. Some of the top boarders in the world have been known to just show up here. My son kyle on my first bolt. He just had to get a pic taken sportin his new hair cut. Not sure who this lovely lady is, thought she had a great smile and was very happy to let me catch it through the lens. This young man was at one of the many bike events last summer. He was very intrigued by all the chrome that made a showing that day. Another one of my most favorite people chris, who is also a fellow badweber. Caught this pic the night of the bbq splash 2004. This shot is of mad jack. Jack is a retired Eugene, or motorcycle police officer. Now, if this man walked up to you and asked if you would like a beer, would ya take it? Looks like bob (next to him) is givin it some thought but not too sure if he is going to be quik enough. Another badweber, Cody Wood. Caught this shot of cody deep in thought during the pre-ride riders meeting splash 2004. if ya ever make it to the Portland area, one has to check out this young man and his skills at riding, totally amazing!
