i got an unexpected day off on Monday 1/17/2005 and decided to run down the hill into Bakersfield and pick up a new memory card for the Nikon. true to form, i turned a 90-mile ride into 150, and snagged a few pix of the ride back into the mountains. Denise, thanks for letting me abus...er, borrow your motorcycle. this is the "back" way into Caliente, CA, just off Hwy 58, about 40 miles or so south of Lake Isabella. a few miles north of Caliente, near the southern end of the legendary Lion's Trail. the equally legendary San Joaquin Valley fog is finally starting to lift, and the temps are coming up a bit. (Message edited by jerry_haughton on January 18, 2005) |

That shot looks similar to the 74 out of Julian towards Palomar! Cali has some great roads! |

to the right the road to Twin Oaks, CA, a gnarly little fun fest in its own right. to the left, the Lion's Trail, slicing up, up, up into the SoCal mountains. it doesn't get much better. (Message edited by jerry_haughton on January 18, 2005) |
