Okay, I am not a photographer in the least, but I live in a really cool place as far as Motorcycles are concerned, and I want to share. The Inland Empire is not a Town, it's more of a region, so I recognize I am stretching the topic a bit. But here I go. First the roads. We have some of the best roads in the country here. Anyone remember going up to Idywilld on the all California tour? The road up the mountain is less than a mile from my house. Its called Highway 74. Here is what you find if you drop down the back side of it into the Palm Springs area: People come from all over to ride this sexy little beast of a road, and there is usually a broad display of two and four wheel go fast toys hanging about. I could sit here all day and talk about the roads, but there are other things too. Like the tracks. Fontana is in the Inland Empire, and lately Mat Mladin wont let anyone else win there Willow Springs is not too far away either. And where there are tracks, there are women- There are a bunch of bike night type happenings going on around here, usually year round because we have great weather, but once a year the coolest thing to do is ride about an hour south (or three hours of rock'in twistys the whole way) and visit the infamous Al Lighton, let him feed you, give you a bike show, and raffle you off awesome prizes at his American Sport Bike Bar B Que. Well, thats enough for now, I dont want to BRAG too much... hopefully somebody can post some pics of Ortega Highway? (which connects us to Orange county, Ca.). |

Thanks, Dino! Means a lot coming from you. I just noticed that the picture above is not actually from the Bar-B-Que, but one of the meetings on the way there (Quaid Harley-Buell in Temecula). So here is the Bar-B-Que.

It is funny how people think somewhere else is alway better. Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence thing. I rode with some guys from Cal. during the summer and they did not want to go home. They said that Polamar mountain was the only thing close to what we have here. They could not believe that there were so many roads to ride and with very little traffic. We went to Ark. last year and I was ready to move out there because I was amazed at the good roads,no traffic and no law enforcement. I would love to go out and hit the west coast and the Rockies into Canada. People who get to travel and see all these great places are so lucky. Those are some great pictures and my heart is pounding like crazy. I would love to ride highway 74 looks like great fun. |

There are some things I miss about the inland empire...like..um..err..... Well, I thought there were...ok, ok the twisties.. I do miss all the twisties. I don't miss the smog, or the traffic, or all the people that want to do bad things to you.(There are those people everywhere, but just an over abundance in So. Cal.). Man I love Tucson
