While trying to reserve a room in silverton for just Saturday night, I found out the whole third floor is allready reserved for either "roger" or "young" or "roger young" the manager didn't know. so rooms ARE getting scarce there. If anyone has space they need to share drop me a line at: Buelligan@mindspring.com I'll split the difference with ya. It's just me, no passengers and for only the last night in Silverton. Thanks, Bart |

Hi all, Just a reminder to everyone that has rented a condo. No matter where you have rented, there is NO CHECK-IN AT THE COMPLEX. Before you leave home , please read your paperwork for check-in information, i.e. where to pick up yours keys and get directions to your condo. If you are staying in motel in Summit County, this won't apply to you. Kim & Cheryle Beres |

Brad, I got reservations at the Fireside Inn, one block from the Longbranch. It looks like I'm going to ride over Trailridge Pass going out Wednesday. If you are still going to Denver Wed. night look and see if you might want to at least ride up Big Thompson Canyon, it is pretty neat. I want to do the Steamboat ride Saturday then head out through the Poudre Canyon to Ft. Collins. That one is similar to Big Thompson and worth the ride (not like anything we have around our neck of the woods). It is looking bad for Frank, we had a 2" rain Tue. that delayed his driveway project so it may just be the two of us. Mike |

Mike, We still going to try for North Platte on Tuesday? The Denver thing is not cast in stone, we can discuss when we hook up or when we finally stop for liquid libations on Tuesday evening. Brad |

Brad, Yea, North Platte works for me. I was just looking at not going through Denver if I can get around it (I would figure as much as you have to drive in the cities you would drive around too). I loaded up the S3 last night and drove it to work today for a trial run. Hardly knew it had all the gear on it. I am bringing my tent and sleeping bag anyway even though I have a room. By the way the weather forcast for next week looks good. Mike |

Mike, The Fireside Inn is right next door to Longbranch. I'll give you access to the garage so that you don't have to park outside. Will also let you use the pool and hot tub area. Kim |

Kim- Hot-damn, that sounds real nice of you (in my cowboy accent). I would have liked to stay at the Longbranch but I wasn't able to firm up travel plans and partners til lately. This is really starting to get fun, Don Casto wrote and wants to ride over Trailridge with us and on to Breck. I've been looking forward to riding again in Colorado since about 20 yrs ago was the last time. Every time I have been out there skiing, travelling or dirt biking I kept saying to myself that I've got to get the road bike out here. Mike |

Hi All, Have some bad news. Doesn't look like I'm going to make it this year. Sorry all, really wanted to do meet everyone in Colorado this year. Aside from starting my own engineering firm it turns out I've got apoplysa(sp) in my left eye. BuellieDan can recall my hesitation for tight left hand curves in our recent excellent ride in the NM Rockies. The situation only got worse with the drive from El Paso especially at night. Seems I am suppressing my left eye because of a failure to keep my presecreption upto date. The brain decided that processing information from the left was too difficult and shut down the eye. As a result very little usable information is coming from the left eye. Hence my hesitation. Physically the eye is fine and can be corrected, however, I've got to make my brain remeber its there. If you wear glasses or contacts, make sure you get your eyes checked annually. I didn't and now I'm partially blind. Will miss you all. Arvel |

Arvel: Wasn't "apoplysa" the girl Michael Corleone married while hiding out in Italy? Was' up? You have an Italian girl caught in your eye. Blake, move this baby to the NC-17 board. Seriously, that news sucks in a BIG WAY and I am sorry to hear that and we'll be thinking about you. You are an icon in this group and I was really looking forward to abusing you and selling you more patches. By the way, any chance of just forwarding the food? Hehehehehe. Take care of yourself....there'll be plenty more chance to commune....now go get that eye looked at. Court |

Thanks Court, I'm already training my brain and will be getting a second opinion ASAP at the local McGee Eye institute. See what I can do about the food. You all have fun and don't miss any turns. Especially those that hit cliffs or have a bottom a long way down. Arvel Shh, don't tell my wife, she thinks it's a medical condition |

If I may be so bold as to ask a favor of anyone going out to Colorado on a Blast. I would love to ride out there, but it's just not in the cards. If someone on a Blast could take a picture of themselves and their Blast on top of Trail Ridge Road at the Tundra(or is it Alpine) Visitors Center for me that would be great. I was in RMNP last August and unfortunaltely in a car. Trail Ridge Road is one of the many motivating factors for me to get a motorcycle. That road is just unbeliveable, not meant for speed though. So all you guys and gals watch yourselves, watch out for the Moose and the Elk(especially the Elk), and enjoy one of the best roads that I have ever been on. Thanks in advance, Jerry |

Us four from San Diego are now in COLORADO! Been following the AAA highlighted roads from SD since saturday (stayed 2 nights in vegas). Damn Monsoon has one heckuva lot of moisture over the entire west, we're surfing the "ring of fire" perimeter storms the whole way here. Thunderstorms everywhere, but we're doing a good job of slaloming around them. Made it to Fruita CO just as the skies opened up. The roads are just awesome, sights amazing. The roads here have a way of making you feal REALLY small, everything is so HUGE. I can't post pictures from my little palmtop, the'll just have to wait till I get back to SD. Breckenridge tomorrow! Josh & Mariabelen sighting: At 10:30 pm Tuesday they have made it to Topeka, and she said "let's push on!" They are going to Salina before stopping to beat some of the daytime heat. Good thinking! That Blast! is made for ridin! Y'all be careful and twist&shout! |
