Hello All, Can't wait to meet up with every one of you in Colorado. I wanted to add my .02 to what Kim and Cheryl have posted. 1. Get ready for some serious fun. The roads selected offer the very best in twists, turns, and views in Colorado. Absolutely bring a camera, you'll need it to make people back home believe how incredibly gorgeous the vistas can be. 2. There has been a lot of behind the scenes pre-riding off all the routes. One thing we have learned is that both Kim and Cheryl are exceptional riders. They have no problem with the uneven wear on their tires. Keep up with them at your own peril. 3. The weather is highly unpredictable in the Rockies. Please bring rain gear with you. It's essential as storms move in, and pass quickly, in the mountains. A light second layer to keep you warm is a good idea too. 4. If you haven't let Kim and Cheryl know you're coming yet please do so soon. It helps immensely in planning for the success of this event. Hi All: Just 3 weeks from today for the rally. For those staying in Breckenridge during the rally, here is another event to attend after riding on Saturday: Music on Main Street in Frisco. The town is closing off main street, setting up a stage for bands and having a street party. We know we will be ready for some rock and roll by then. We are resting up for now for the big shin-dig. Is the Longbranch easy to find, or obvious to find, as in right on the main road thru town? Also, is there a lobby or convention center or main dance hall at the long branch, or will everybody just be pretty much scattered around town? I guess what I'm asking is when I get there all bug splattered and fuzzy-eyed, is it going to be obvious, or will I be playing "find the Buell riders"? Found a couple of things surfing around: FreeTrip is some sort of trip planner. Found it on a Beemer discussion site. Also, there is a BWM ride the same weekend as the Colorado gathering. Gonna be a whole bunch of motorcycles in Colorado that week. MikeJ: I have attended the "Top o' the Rockies" ralley during another lifetime on my K1100RS. It is one of the best regional rallys I have ever participated in and draws riders of all type bikes from all over North America. I suspect we shall be rubbing shoulders with some of the same folks we shared the roads with during the first Taos Rally a couple of years ago. The BMWers are a pretty tolerable bunch, but they just don't sound quite right. See ya in a few weeks, Don | ||

Budster, Click to ATB, and then to the What's New at the top of the page after the graphics stop their dance routine. Call their telephone number for registration and have a credit card handy and you'll be all set. Since you're in Denver I guess you won't be needing accomodations. Budster: Pre-registration is NOT required and if you even so much as THINK you like Buells, your Buell, the idea of woning or riding a Buell or the prospect of seeing the odd collectionm of folks who meet one/more of the above criteria you are welcome. This is a Buell tradition that we observe for several reasons.
Seriously.....Buell events, like Buell people, are fun. Period. This one has been very well organized by Kim and Cheryl Beres and Phil Poindexter. No advance registration is required. But...Kim has prepared a DANDY map and intineray. So, if'n I were you, I'd just post a note right here...and let him know you are coming. As if by magic, you'll get an e-mail from him in the next day or so askign for your address where he'll mail info. This Buell world wonderful or what? Looking forward to having you join us. Budster: If you show up in Morrison on sunday 7/1.Between 9 and 10 am. I can fill you in on all the details. We meet at either the Red Rocks Grill or the place across the street. Court: I have to give Cheryle most of the credit for the map booklets. Although when we made up over a hundred copies of it yesterday I can honestly say that I stapled each and every one of them together. You being the ELF on high or is that the high ELF got the first copy. Everyone else will get theirs when they get here. Oh and watch out for the EIB's they are out there and they are watching. Court, Care to elaborate on number 5 there pardner. I haven't shuffled in nigh on to 30 minutes now. An yellin, shoot, we'all just talks loud to be heard above them sandstorms with the watery mud blowing in 'em. 'Sides, by then I'll hail from Oklahoma anyhow. I'll need to bring my tanning gear to bring you'ins down to size. BHR, Lurch and Choptop aren't all that big, dang what's 6'4", 6'5" and 6'7" anyway, just more meat to aim at. Dis-organizeed, sounds good to me. Can't miss me any way. I'll be the only red S2 with a blue fairing and bright red SIDI boots with very tight Fieldsheer leathers. Arvel Lord, I pray that Court, BigHairyRalph, Lurch and Choptop are in good moods today, otherwise, please make sure I get buried in my boots and my Buell goes to my brother. | ||

It looks like I picked a bad time to move back to the homeland (I'm only 20 minutes from the Buell factory). I lived in Vail before returning to the land of cheese and beer. Check out the July/August issue of FUELL for my article on my favorite twisties ride. I haven't seen a final copy so I don't know how much it was edited. Court is absolutely correct in saying pre-registration is NOT required, however, please plan on registering upon arrival to the Rally. Unless you have put one of these things together you have NO idea how much out of pocket expense goes into it. I cannot stress enough how important it is for the the people who are organizing this event to break even. NO ONE , I promise, (unless it is some independant vendor) is going to get rich on this deal, and of course we promise as much disorganization as possible. But it kind of gets a little dissapointing when you just spent every dime out of your piggy bank and piggy is really hungry but you cannot give him anything to fill him back up. Jay Hawley, Donna Hawkins, & Kim & Cheryle Beres have put their heart, soul, and pocketbook into this thing. Please help them to afford to do another one next year! | ||

Phil: Drats.....I was hoping you guys could retire on this thing! Seriously.....Pre-registered or not, everyone will be asked (Court strong armed....Phil, you ever seen me sell patches?) to ante up their fair share. From the moment this idea was hatched it was designed to be a break-even, not a charitable contibution on the part of any of the dis-organizers. Phil, and Kim, I'm pre-registered, but my mail packet hasn't arrived yet. I will be going past home today on the way out of town to check the mail.
