I just got back last week from the Hells Canyon Rally in Baker City, it was my second, first one in 2009. Great bunch of folks attending, town really caters to the bikers! Did the owyhee dam reservoir run this time, loved it. Prior to trip I purchased a RAM GPS mount for my Garmin 1370 NUVI, loved it (except the batterys don't last long enough) so I added a BELL 12V acc outlet along side my dash panel, used a Bettery tender extension plug to mate up to mat charger extension, snaked the wiring along side the harness. Worked great! My Vance&Hines SSR2 is a bit loud for me, so I attempted a second baffle trick, taking a 2.125" to 1.875" reducer, capping the small end with eng. block plug, then cutting side cutouts in the 2.125" end 1" wide 180deg opposing. This really reduced the bark, smoothed my low rpm stumble. Much mellower than before, quite pleased. Bought a Dowco MLS-RB 15.57liter Roll Bag to act as tail bag when I have factory Hard bags installed, or not. Great size, not too big and not too small ( I hate wrestling tank bags when gassing up). Speaking of Gas, got 58mpg cruising I-84 at 75MPH, the rest of the time was mostly 51mpg, love this bike! My buddies VTX1800 almost got 40mpg, he's envious.... |
