This past weekend was a great one at the BRPMC, JR... Brian, FB&D came to party and celebrate life... Brian and I hung for his NC party after Iraq
Showed some Buell love,
Heather somehow put up with us all...
Brian showed Ferris some love, even though he had a sour Cuervo face...
And we even dealt with Denise and Ferris and their HD robes- We tried to call them FAGS, but the beers we handed them and ceegars they provided completely wrecked the image along with their friendship, attitude and love of life and motorcycles- these two are two of the most steadfast Buell supporters I know... Ya'll (I said it), these are two of the finest motorcyclists I've met, and I am proud to have you as my closest friends.
Denise tried like hell to be pissed
Bantz was a bit delayed in his arrival, but I sent the RANE tank along with him to finally be clear coated. My friend Amy joined in the party and the the blurry pic was pretty accurate for this time of the evening.
The morning brought a ton of frost, and Jb2 got in town just in time for some coffee and breakfast.
Brian drug this banner to Homecoming, where we wrecked a good portion of Erik's signing time to talk with us along with a ton or other Buellers at homecoming, and all the way through his deployment to Iraq. One of the great moments of the weekend was Jerry and Jim signing this at the breakfast table, completing a circle of friendship and brotherhood.
Jim, Jerry and I got some really cool momentos from Iraq- Brian brought me a flag what was flown over one of his bases in Iraq. Jerry is now the proud owner of a Buell pin that rode along for all of Brian's Stryker missions and JB2 went home with an awesome Buell Racing T-shirt that Erik sent the boys on Iraq. I blame the start of my Buell experience on Brian, and JB2 and Jerry were the enablers of the coolest experience of my life- doing the ride for Matt. Thanks to you all for your friendship, love and experience in life. You guys ROCK!!! I would not be the same man today without you guys! |

Very Nice!! Ya'll (I said it) Is there a story there, or are you just learning the language? Whichever; I agree, fine folks indeed! Rotzaruck! |

Nothing like a memory card to fill in the missing pieces. How could the evening have been anything but perfect? Wonderful host/hostess, most excellent fixins, mucho beer, fine ceegars, and company we were honored to finally shake hands with. Thanks again Alex and Heather - you two are the Best! Alex, late to the ballgame as usual but great times and great pictures! JB3 flew back to Texas yesterday and so I'm finally getting caught up. I really dig the shirt Brian gave me. As much for what it is as for where it has been. It'll be on many future road trips to add more locations to its history. Breakfast was great thanks to you and Heather. Nice pad too. I know it's not a farmhouse but at least you have some trailered neighbors to give it that country feel! Denise, It was good to have some face time with you on the short drive up to I77. I have to say that all the times we've been together in the past were very brief or crowded with alcohol and people. I hope that you and Kim can repeat the same in the future. I missed out on the festivities Saturday evening but it was really good to see everyone again and finally meet Brian. Next time I hope to not be on a bomb run and not in the truck but rather on the bike! JB2 |

That was an awesome time. Hopefully I will be able to make it down there next year for some riding. Jerry, here is a picture of where the Buell pin was at.
If you look towards the bottom left corner, you will see a periscope. The pin is attached to the black pad on the bottom. JB2 I am very happy you managed to stop in for breakfast, that made my day. Now that the initial meeting is over, maybe we can get some riding/bbq/beer drinking happenin. Alex and Heather, see you guys around Christmas, hopefully the car has no more problems. Brian |

Those folks sure plowed up a bunch of rocks. It's a mighty fine thing they ended up doing with them. I wonder how much cussin' they caused before they ended up at church. Rotzaruck! |

Ed, this church (and several other rock churches near here, two of which front the Parkway) was built by the late Reverend Bob Childress. By all accounts he was a mountain of a man. Do you like to read? This book... http://www.amazon.com/Man-Who-Moved-Mountain/dp/08 0061237X ...is impossible to put down once you start it. It's about a religious man, but is not what I'd call a "religious" book, if that makes any sense. If you scroll down the page you'll find several reviews, the first one written by Rev. Childress' grandson. Get the book - we promise you won't be disappointed. And then, the next time you come up and ride the Parkway, it'd be our honor to take you on a very pretty, peaceful tour to Buffalo Mountain. FB&D |

Great day of riding yesterday... Rode 350 miles of some really fun roads off the Parkway and some great gravel/dirt/mud roads by Burke's Garden... CarLost celebrated the day by a rock puncture in his D616. Yes, Webe, that tire had one HELL of a contact patch on the gravel...
CarLost and Ferris- yep, the f*cker's got a hole in it...
Jerry, being the all-too-prepared ADRoadking Rider his is, had the most kick-ass tire plug and compressor combination we've seen- Aerostich will have some new orders coming in this week after we all put away our inferior kits...
Yes, it is a Harley. Yes, it's got quite a bit of chrome and usually stays clean, and yes, it's with a bunch of Buells. But damn the dude will take it all on and I love Ferris's sense of ADVenture (or ADRoadking). I think we've found our new places to explore now that we've hit almost every paved road in the area. GPS said about 20 miles of dirt and gravel, which was abso-freaking-awesome. We played 'follow the fast little RK' all day.
Overview from where we got off the gravel and hit VA 16- picture doesn't really do it justice with the haze. This vantage point looked down a mountain valley for miles
The iron horses that made the trek and the ride of their trailer riding brethern. I somehow have a feeling that the Uly doesn't just have mud on it. There was an odd smell baking off of the pipes that was certainly not mud...
" I am FERRIS... King of the Roadking and, Guardrail???"
Thanks for a great weekend!!! (Message edited by awprior on August 08, 2010) |

Brian, the pin looks like it's been through a war! It is one of our most treasured mementos: Thank you for your friendship, and for your service. FB&D |

Saturday's ride was a great one... We went for a quick ride to meet Jerry and Denise for breakfast at Meadows of Dan and stopped at Lover's Leap overlook, Hwy 58, So. VA...
I asked Heather if she'd marry me and gave her a ring...
And she said yes!!!
Looking forward to many more adventures in life with you, babe! (Message edited by awprior on August 23, 2010) |

The leap is figurative... I think. I thought it was a great spot to do it, and she had no idea it was coming. Tough to do when you hang with your best friend pretty much all the time and have been living together for 3 years... We're both excited! |
