Right on BOTH counts. The good . . . or bad . . news is that there is a house hunting trip to your neck of the woods in the works. We'd have been looking for a retirement place sooner but Henrik was slow doing the research . . . You can never find a Great Dane when you need one. |

Still thinking Bastrop? There's 30 acres for sale right up the road from the ranchito--nice house & big barn.... rt |

Send details. I think a trip may be in the works to check out both Austin and Bastrop. Thanks for the "heads up". By the way . . . we're having a good laugh . . . here's what you get in Breham for the same price as a 700SF apartment in NYC. (Message edited by court on March 30, 2011) |

Walked to a meeting yesterday . . . . . NYC never ceases to amaze. Work up this morning, rolled over to see naval ships passing . . . Fleet Week starts today with military fly-overs which will be right in front of us through the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge . . . alas . . I'm off to an 11:00am meeting in Westchester County . . .

Pansy. Auto-archiving happens at around 40 posts. Spring in NYC and the man is on the prowl! Nice shots Court. |

Here's LOOKING at the problem . . . . . I got stopped at Homecoming last Thursday and someone was telling me how much they enjoy the "glimpse" into New York City. They ask how I "found" all the interesting places, things and people. I explained that here . . . they find YOU. As much as I enjoy the solitude and openness of Kansas, Wisconsin or about any place else on the planet . . there is something about NYC. If you try to control it . . .the city will win. But me? . . . I just go with it, walk, watch and listen . . . while it unfolds before me. Anyway . . . I promised to shoot photos of a simple one hour walk the day I got back . . . here, and I apologize for the number but I've gone through twice and thinned them out, are a collection of photos taken with the G12 pocket camera while walking from my office to Vickie's yesterday.

Any reason you went with the stick on signals, rather than the 1125CR signal mirror combo? Love the hinge detail. Looks like a cast, but successfully welded, part. That's some skill right there... |

The TIR3's are dangerously bright . . . and were seriously cheap. I'd like to try a set of 1125 mirror/signals. I've got plenty of hand guards about so it's not out of the options yet. |

I'd be eager to see that . . . I think they will look great and much cleaner. Eager to see how they work. |

I went some place today . . . no clue where . . . traveled generally Northwest from NYC and just wandered . . started with some familiar places . . started getting lost and finding new. One funny incident . . I was wandering some very remote back roads and noticed the powerline (that's the business I'm in) and thought "darn that looks familiar" . . sure enough . . . about 5 minutes later the road pops out about 100 yards from the Sugarloaf Substation we just built . . . . yegads. Anyway . . fun stuff. Enjoy . . . Court

I always feel bad about taking up all this band width . . .but NEW YORK CITY is so fascinating and changes with each day . . . been VERY busy lately . .which is good in that it takes me all over every day . . here are a few from the G12 yesterday. Fun stuff . . . next week I am FINALLY taking a week off, I've got the bike rigged for a guitar and I'm spending Monday and Tuesday in Central Park with an old Martin to see if I can make a few bucks . . . The 3 shots below are inside the building where the PA (the folks who own and are building the World Trade Center) are located . . had a 2:30 meeting here on Friday . . awesome place . .awesome folks.

This guy's "job" is walking about town with the cat on his head and tourists give him money to take their photo with him. One day, down on Grand Street, he saw me taking a photo of him and tried to "intervene" . . ever been chased by a man wearing a cat? Yep . . out the sunroof on a real city street. Adding this to my collection of "Buells in Manhattan" .. the classic is still the beat up Blast that sits on Park Avenue and is always parked alongside the Maybach limo. |
