I'll be leaving for a 3-week cross-country trip on my 1125R on June 10nth. I'm trying to finalize the details now. The plan was to visit Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, and Badlands on the way home, but I keep hearing that the weather at Yellowstone is unpredictable at best. The weather channel says its going to snow there tomorrow. Its one thing to go for a short ride around home in 40-50 degree weather, but thats not what I'm looking for in my summer vacation. So far the alternate route would include the Coronado Trail and find some other points of interest on the way to some riding in Arkansas and a stop in New Orleans. Any advise? |

You will be at altitude in the mountains, so weather can be dicey at times. When my friend and I went through Yellowstone in late June (2 yrs ago) daytime was marvy. Got into the 30's at night. |

And don't let us talk you out of a great stop; Yellowstone is worth a visit. Bad news: Less than ideal weather MAY happen on a long trip. Good news: It IS summer, so a weather issue is only likely to delay you by a couple of hours. Ride safe, have fun. |

Thanks guys. I've got a heated jacket liner and rain gear, just hoping to not use them much, and I planned a spare day at the end of the trip in case there's any delays. Probably be a last-minute decision... Just bought a ContourHD camera so I'll have some video to post when I get back. |
