It is now official, I have joined the C3ers for real, and I am the founding father of the Blue Ridge Parkway Motorcycle Club- Junior Chapter, just cause the real founder is close enough one or the other of us to stop by for a cold one on a Sunday afternoon and we'll probably cause some chaos for our significant others, but he can still kick my arse on a twisty road any day of the week (thus Junior) Heather and I have been camped out in Kernersville for about 5 weeks now, and I am proud to say that we have found a new place to call home. Still working on a name, and it does not have the same old school character as the Prior Ranch in Iowa, but she's purty house, well built and will suit our needs well- and it'll make a heck of a party house! Hope to be in there in a few weeks! Looking forward to riding with all of you!!! Prior and Heather (Message edited by awprior on February 18, 2009) |

Welcome! Just a coupla clarifications, Junior, : "just cause the real founder is close enough one or the other of us to stop by for a cold one on a Sunday afternoon and we'll probably cause some chaos for our significant other" A. The real founder would be FB&D - high stress on that "&D". B. Thinking that significnat other in KVegas (Kernersville) will be having her own bike somewhere down the line (if there is any support at all from this gal )and just maybe, maybe you will want to reword that part about causing chaos to the significant other - goes both ways junior... please refer to Court's post on the QB re come to Boston. See ya round the bend soon. Welcome Alex and Heather! |

Brian, Too cool that you hung the first post here! Hope all is well with you guys over in the big Sandbox and I'll have a care package on the way to you soon. It is a pretty sweet ride down from PA, and you can certainly make a few days of it if you choose to go the really scenic route. Denise, Founder(s). You are correct. We'll see if we can get Heather a bike of her own. She's never ridden on herself, but she does enjoy riding! I think we're all going to have a pretty rockin good time. Twig, We're in an apartment just South of Kernersville off of 66 right now, but will be closing on a house a little North of Kernersville in about two weeks (the place is maybe 4 miles North of downtown). The XB is in the state, but in storage over in Charlotte. I'll be moving in two weeks from today and I'll have the toys back. Kristi- can't wait to see you guys either, stay posted for a house warming shindig. Prior |

This is the house. I truly feel blessed to have found it, and have the ability to get the place with how things are in our economy right now.
It's nice an open, perfect for a party house. And there is room for a new barn down in a few years. |

Now that my friend is a nice setup. Do a hear a dirty bike stepping into the scene? With the Tax free money we are saving, Kate and I are looking for houses. Mike T's dad Rob is really helping us get hooked up. Requirements are a house to support us and 2 kids, (when we finally have some), yard for volleyball etc, and of course the ever elusive shop for some vehicle restoration work. Looking forward to heading down and checking out the local area and populace. Test the brews so I dont have to suck down any rough suds. Brian |

Wow! Very nice indeed. Can't wait for a grand tour sometime. Every time I head to the hills, I swing north of K'ville and pick up either 8,65,66,68,311. Sometimes 220 for a jumpstart. All the routes are close to each other. I know you will have a blast learning the area. Take care! |

T'was a good weekend in Kernersville. Met a few friends from college last evening in Stuart and brought them down 8 and 89 to Kernersville for the evening for some BS, brews and beef on the grill. Headed up 66 this morning after breakfast to Hanging Rock State Park for a few photos before sending them off to western MD. Quite the mix of bikes... Left to right: Wes, Munson, Shap
This one was taken up at Hanging Rock State Park this morning.
Off to plant the garden!!! (Message edited by awprior on May 16, 2009) |

It's been a busy few weeks at the Blue Ridge Parkway Motorcycle Club, JR. Heather and I had both had our families come and visit within the last month or so. When the Prior's were out, we took a trip down to the Childress Vineyards, which is quickly becoming one of our favorite places to chill, it's down in Lexington. Wine-a-ritas rock!!!
Thursday nights Childress has Wine Down Thursdays from 6-9, the perfect opportunity to pop a cork, sit around in a beautiful vineyard, listen to some great music and just chill.
We've also been working on landscaping around the house. My grass doesn't grow worth a shit, but the flowers are looking great! We got almost all of this stuff at the Triad Farmer's Market- cheap, pretty and local!
We've been frequenting a local 'international' grocery store and got some blue crabs there last Friday. They're not big, but they steamed up well and were great! For those of you that have never had blue crabs, they are a staple food around MD and southern PA where we grew up. They're native to the Chesapeake Bay, and are one of the sweetest seafood meats you've ever had. Steam them up in some beer and vinegar with a lot of Old Bay and you've got a meal! I do plan on parking a keg in the backyard and getting a bushel or two of crabs yet this summer, we're taking reservations.
And... Brankin came to visit last night on his way to Indianapolis. He got here a bit late, well after dark, and we accidentally stayed up half the night drinking some ice cold Yuenglings and shooting the bull. I was out the door at 7 for work, Heather left at 9 for an interview and apparently Brankin spent the start of his vacation sleeping in. He at least figured out how the garage door worked. Come and visit again!
And since we spend half of last night talking bikes and slugging beers, I had riding on my mind and not so much work. I jetted out around noon, had a well placed email into FB&D and we ALL played hookie this afternoon and went to Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Park to enjoy the nice weather. It sucked so much I may have to do it again next week...
More to come soon!!! |

Hey Prior- Glad to hear things are working out good for you! I have a fair amount of vacation to burn this fall so I am looking at a trip down your way and pick up Octoberfast too. Hopefully the weather gods work out this time since the hurricane last fall cut our trip short. I'd like to bring Drew along again but I don't know if his work schedule will allow it. Two of the guys on our Utah trip build tractors at the Tractor plant. I really miss riding with guys that just go out and ride! When they were upset with me I told them that I was usually one of the slower ones in my normal group of riders. |

Reep, I missed your post. Yep he traded the Super Glide for a new Uly with all the touring goodies. His Glide has taken a back seat to the new Buell. JB2 |
