Closing banquet on August 22 here is a picture of PJ from Michigan, Kathy, Me, Deb, and Jannett.
Me Deb and Jannett all became Rider's Edge instructors in 2001 Jannett was a lead instructor for HD, we all became MC safety instructors together in 1998 and Deb and I were a part of the first all female team to teach for RE in the USA. |

I have one more set of pictures going back west and then some pictures Kathy took while in Keystone. We did 4,000 miles in 3 weeks and it was a blast, next year I'm going to Milwaukee for the 10th Rider's Edge CIW and women's bike week. I'm starting to think about the great lakes now
The last set for this trip is of the Jefferson City Capital Bldg Kathy is USCP and the bldg looks just like the capital. We had to stop and take pictures for her. |

Coming back across the country we had a storm front on our backs the whole way across. we went back on route 50 to head east to be in the comfort zone. In Keystone it was damp on August 23rd, we rode down out of the mountains the tempurature was in the lower 50's. When we got to Canon City it was in the 80's and towards the end of the day in Kansas I saw a bank on the side of the road that said 106 degrees. we were soaking our bandannas and putting them back on at the gas stops.
We got into Missouri and we had to stop at the State Capital in Jefferson City it is right off of route 50 and the State capital there looks like the Nations Capital but different color. So we stopped for pictures here and had lunch at an italian buffet walking distance from the capital.
Inside of the capital there was a large museum it was a surprise to us!

Last stop of the trip was in Grafton, WV off of route 50 a place I have stayed before on the trip down to Memphis. The motel is called Crislip motorlodge you get a HUGE room with 2 big beds for $58.00 a night. The room is so big you can roll the bikes into it and still have room, we didn't but could. The motel is owned by a family who lives there. The kids run up and down the large front concrete porch in front of the rooms or drawing with sidewalk chalk. It's a place I'll go to if I'm in the area Sceneca rock is 2.5 hours away. It could be a good weekend spot to have a Buell event at. Anyway our bikes out front of the room

One of the last cool places we stopped for gas and whatever else was a place off of 50 in West Virginia they have a park here, a diner, and shop to buy stuff, right off of route 50 again here is a picture of route 50 it gets twisty and totally fun

That was a great ride report!
You two did it right, stopping at all the places you wanted to and taking the back roads.
And this is priceless: "In the process of being in front of him now I let every single car I could in front of me, in front of the trucker who didn't want anybody in front of him: ) Isn't that NICE!"}
I've heard that it's a fantastic ride to go around Lake Superior. See if you can find someone who's done it and get the final word though. Personally, I think it would be great.

Next year Smiley in May I'm going to be riding around the great Lakes you are welcome to travel with us. On May 22 and 23 HD is running 2 events one is called Celebrate Women Riders web site is h-d.com/womenriders and Rider's Edge is having the instructor update there too it will be my 10th year teaching RE I'm there for sure. Riders will be Debby and Claude, me, Kathy and maybe Beth. We might have a couple of more RE instructors with us I'm not sure. I'm thinking a side trip to EastTroy to see the Buell factory Thank you Eric! K |

a couple more pictures to make everybody envious!  I met 2 of the top female racers at the AMA conference, I got pictures with them and autographs in the AMA conference program books they gave us.
Here is the professional picture of Ashley Fiolek she is on the Red Bull team by Honda and is the top MX female racer in 2009, she also took the X-games championship home with her. She is deaf and communicates by sign language.
here she is with me at the hotel in Colorado it was an honor to have met her

The other lady is Leslie Porterfield she hold 3 land speed records and is the fastest woman on 2 wheels.
