My company sent Lynn and I to a weekend work shop in Santa Fe NM. I work for a small company (18 people) so we can afford to do this once a year. This will most likely be my last such trip with them. The trip down was fine. No rain and sunshine but not too hot. Yes, Lynn is always smiling. (This was our first stop about 140 miles out in Fort Garland)
Just South of Taos I had an Elk decide to jump out in front of me and before I knew it he was gone. One of my greatest fears is hitting a deer but these Elk are BIG animals. A couple of miles down the road I stopped to reflect and Lynn had a great view of me bringing the rear of the Uly up. She said, Wow, did you see the size of that! (Why yes I did)
To be continued. |

We meet Dr Greg at Santa Fe HD. Lynn wanted to get there early to shop (always the Harley rider she is) and since they moved since I had been there I thought it would be wise to get there early too.
My friend Murrae is off riding to Alaska and back so I chit chatted with the locals and ran into another BadWebber from NM on a TT. His name is Ed but forgot his BadWeb name.
I may have talked him into attended Homecoming next year after telling him my tells. Dr Greg arrived.
We spent some time in the parking lot and Dr Greg explained how to survive a deer crash to Lynn.
We had lunch and a nice visit with Dr Greg.

Random photos from Santa Fe.
Dr Greg gave me a run down of his next adventure and I look forward to seeing and hearing about that. Frank |

I think he said he would post something about it but from what he told me is he likes it. We discussed some different wind shields and helmets among other things. Lynn really enjoyed his company and so did I. The trip home was spent running from rain. It looked bad in Santa Fe and to the South in ABQ but we managed to not get wet. Laveta pass was overcast but dry. On our last stop for gas I noticed the clouds moving in. I told Lynn to hurry and we might beat it. She stayed right behind me and we got home safe and dry. The sky opened up about 30 minutes later. The Uly ran without a hitch. I have close to 6K on it and like it the more I ride it. |

I'll be eager to hear how he did it and his riding impressions. I just went for an hour ride around the neighborhood and Todt Hill and I'm with you . . . each mile just adds to the "this is THE bike" feeling . . . I have no idea where I'd class the Ulysses, and I'd never get rid of the S-2, but the Ulysses just does about everything well. Those photos bring back many fond memories. We used to go to Santa Fe for vacations in the summer and when Mom and Dad built their "dream house" they has one of the local artists carve the front door. I haven't been back in years but it's on my Top 5 list. Incredible place. Eager to see how it has changed. |

I'd never get rid of the S-2 Court, I think it is about time you get back on that S2 for a ride around Colorado. |

Court, are you referring to mounting/positioning of the Laminar Lip or the bolting of the stock windscreen? If it's the former, then I had a LL on my first bike and loved it. It blocks the wind from your torso but preserves the roadster "feel". For me it's the perfect balance. After the deer strike and acquisition of my second '06 Uly the Laminar Lip was the first thing I added. Makes a huge difference. If it's the latter; some stainless bolts, etc. Note that I have not (yet) bolted the Laminar Lip to the windscreen; I still use their "stick-on" pads. The Uly windscreen topic is like politics, religion, and oil. All I can pass along is my personal experience, which has been very favorable with the Laminar Lip. BTW, I'm 5-9. Right on the edge for riding the Uly with '06 "high" seat... |
