The final races for AMA are again at Laguna and so-far it looks like there will be some race battles going on. Last year this was a really great weekend due to the even better spots and being alongside the Bostrum family.Friday we hope to be riding up to the Bay Area for a possible trek across the valley to Mt. Hamilton. There is a possibility that instead of the Loveshack we may rent a local motorhome and if so I'm looking for someone from the Bay Ares to return the motorhome Sunday night so I can ride my bike home. The following Thursday we will be at Las Vegas for the Inside Pass day.Following that Travis(Tbear) and I will be going on a 5 day trip around southern Utah on our bikes camping and taking pictures.Looks like a busy time! Hope to see you all there at Seca to start out this fun Summers end!!! |

Wellllll..........Thank You, Ferris..!!! I take that as a complement coming from you!!! Soooo....what have you and your better half been doing?? My sister April is getting married soon in Nashville and she has asked me to give her away since my Dad is gone. Could happen before winter, so Travis and I could be riding your way soon. Anybody planning on going to Laguna for these races speak up here so we can make plans suitable to all!If you've never been, this is the race to watch first. The riders are easier to meet and the paddocks are wide open! The temps are nice and the riding is better with the students back in class and the tourists gone home. |

I bought my ticket last night. Scott Paige (usroute66) and I are planning on riding up from SoCal on Friday. We plan on blasting 33 north from Ojai and Nacimiento Road through Ft. Hunter Leggett down to Big Sur. If anyone else wants to join us, let Scott or me know. It will be a long hard day of riding but I promise not to take anyone down any roads of death like last year. Tentatively, I will be leaving San Diego around 8AM, maybe earlier. |

Are there any North Buellers planning on coming to the races? We will have plenty of room around the Loveshack and Scott has gotten a room at Motel 6....which we may utilize one night so as to hang out downtown without the worry of riding back late.Last year our next door neighbors were the Bostrums....a very nice bunch of people indeed! This will be a relaxed, easy going race with a kickback attitude.MJ and the girls from Scramp said they will come by and hang out with us , so all can meet our friend that gives us such special treatment at Laguna. We will be about 4 spots west towards the front straightaway......So COME ON BY!! We will be arriving Late Thursday at the Nob Hill store in Salinas and Friday Morning at the track. |

AMA , Laguna Seca......The Final Final. Well , according to our friend at Scramp, this was the last AMA Final for Laguna.Next year the final race will be elsewhere....Bummer. But for at least these warm summer days , there were friends , new friends and Re-friends from days and years past. Many years ago , perhaps in the late 90's when I used to come to the races alone and set up my tent on the old slope, a lady on a mountain bike stopped by and we sat and chatted about her sons. Speed Channel took her away and that was the last time we spoke.Well , this year , when the Bostrum Cousins set up camp above us I went up to visit and there was Verna...Mrs. Bostrum, hanging out with her Nephews. This started a Grand weekend!Catching up on those old times and new times alike , we talked of many things with alternative power , buildings and lifestyles.Wow!..What a Vibrant and Interesting Group of people!Sometimes , just a new outlook and interest in all those alternatives sheds a new feel to your life and surroundings.Needless to say , racing sprung out of the hollows and as we talked , Eric and Ben were flinging their body and bikes around this wondrous track and we were flinging down those intoxicating beverages to salute their skill and bravery.Ben took the Championship and we all yelled and scremed for his fortune!..Eric...your next!...Stay tuned....and shall we cheer you on again!
Kevin,Pineapple and Dan...Fun people!

Very enjoyable series of pics! Was that moonlight shot doctored or was there actual racing into darkness like they do for the ALMS race at Laguna? |
