Yeah, I do the same thing. Do you think we could get Erik to come out to Newfoundland next year? Let him lead a group ride around the Island. (Last time I was on a ride that he was leading, we were doing 95-100 MPH on Florida backroads) |

Court, it was Daytona 1999, after riding out to the airport to see the Buell "Flying Tiger". Spidey, My Pegasus hasn't finished healing yet (it's in the itching like a bastard stage), so I'm not quite sure what to add 5 years from now. I also wish the 20th could have lasted a lot longer, but if it had, I couldn't have gotten any more pleasure from it. My fun meter was pegged at redline. It's always the people that make an event, and Buell people are the best people I can think of to hang with. Boy, have I got some great memories. |

Crusty, I have some great memories too, wished I had stayed a few days longer to take in the 100th now but I had to get back for work. Next Year you all should come up this way - guaranteed to be a great time. |

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the 20th Anniversary; a small affair completely conceived, planned and executed by enthusiasts. I couldn't have had a better time. Last night, Harley-Davidson ended their big, corporately planned and executed extravaganza. Everybody is leaving feeling tremendously let down. The 20th was a low buck affair. $5.00 posters and a $20.00 dinner. Hal's and Uke's gave us coffee and doughnuts and Battletrax, which cost them a little bit, but still small potatoes compared to what they were spending for the 100th. You don’t need a lot of money. Enthusiasm is all that’s necessary for a good time. Buell riders are passionate, while Harley riders are too busy being cool. Friendliness and enthusiasm beat the hell out of arrogance and chic any day, in my book. I sure am glad I ride a Buell. I sure am glad to have met and partied with other Buell riders.

>>>>You don’t need a lot of money. Enthusiasm is all that’s necessary for a good time. Welcome....nice to have some folks arriving where I've been for so many years. I bear glad tidings, it just gets better. I will say that I rode my FLHTCURNCHIR or whatever to the 85th Whoopdedoo. Rode with Mr. Teerlink and Mike Shadduck from Sacramento. We had one dickens of a time and I have no regrets. But, that was just before the same folks who produce campaign ads for political campaigns were called on to produce the HD shindigs. Passion always beats polished. Just my $0.02. I'll conclude with saying that none of the foregoing should detract from the splendor of what was celebrated. I work for the oldest electrical contractor (104 years) in the USA and any company who has the ability to adjust and adapt over 100 years deserves a great deal of respect. If you doubt it, take a look at the HD stock Pops purchased with his retirement account in 1983. Court

Crusty I totally agree !!! I enjoyed the 100th, but it wasn't anything compared to the 20th !! I love the tight knit, close community that Bueller's are and when the 20th was over I was sad to see everyone leave !! Nothing to be sad about when the 100th was over, just glad to see the damn roads finally cleared out !! Much as I hate to agree with Dyna it occassionally got to be a zoo and the crowds too large to enjoy !! So enjoy that Dyna, my once in a lifetime (hopefully) being in agreement with you on something !! LOL CJ |

THe Buell Community is definately a tight, close knit community. Where else could someone who is a practical stranger get the help and support I received while on the road when I had the isolator fail. Once again, A BIG Thank You to CJ for posting my problem on the BADWEB and to OZ666 for offering his parts, garage, etc, etc. If anyone ever needs anything and I can be of some kind of help. I am there!!!!!! |
