Bads1, Just tell him to try to keep his hands to himself while you're sedated (if you're sedated that is) CJM, Yeah, I'd call them weenies, but they have legitamate reasons, like loss of house and home. I just hope that I can walk after that many miles on a Blast! James |

No opinion on doing a Ghetto Run? Hows about a dealer run? Just tossing ideas out here guys. I really dont want to have to sit in a bar & discuss ride ideas & then get home, make up a route & maps, etc. Would rather have it all done ahead of time so everyone can just kick back & eat/drink/bullshit. If the folks just want to wing it & ride to whereever thats cool to. Go hit "The Fuel Cafe" Bradford beach area, Hooters, Water street, Brady street, etc etc. |

Self Guided Tours... I posted a few months ago about providing a route sheet that follows the Southeast Wisconsin section on the back of AAA's Milwaukee map which is available nationally. The route sheet will available in Excel and can be emailed so you can get a map and highlight it yourself before you leave for the 20th. In essence, the route links Hal's, Uke's and East Troy. Additionally, it incorporates the Twisties in both the Eagle and Holy Hill area connected by a series of Scenic Sweepers on the County Roads. Plenty of places to stop, eat and drink along the way so just pull over when you feel like it and enjoy. Once you highlight the route on your map, you will be able to get on and off the route at any point which enables you the most flexibility in getting to and from certain areas in whatever time frame you have in mind. If you want a copy of the route sheet, just sent me an email and I will forward it to you within a week. Any of you that responded to my original post a few months ago, rest assured I have your email addresses saved and will forward as soon as it is done. I apologize for the delay but life has been a little hectic up lately. Finally got some free time and spent last Sunday riding the southern half and now have to get it all written up and then ride it for mileage and times.

I can vouch for Nevco's route/directions sheets, they are AWESOME !! The rides he's lead for our group have been really good scenic, twisty routes and his directions well done ! Sounds like you already have the job done Bill!! I'd like a copy myself, and I'll also print some out for anyone who gets here and doesn't have a copy or lost a copy !! I'll try to pick up some tourist brochures and have them handy if anyone is interested in knowing what's in Milwaukee !! CJM

Thanks CJ. Will take you up on the route sheet copies. Would have loved to just reproduced a map but the things simply don't copy well. I chose the AAA map as it is almost as detailed as the specialty maps and is available almost everywhere including the book stores. |

CJ what do you think of something like this? I have gone on plenty of trips on my bike & usually the trip there is almost always enough riding for me. After doing 1000+ miles I just want to kick back & take it ez & relax. Going for a ride once I reach my destination is fine but I really dont want to be doing those 250+ mile banzai runs thru some state forest. For the folks who want to do something like that, great. But hows about coming up with an alternative plan that stays closer to the milwaukee/racine area? Im talking about a ride thru the downtown Milwaukee area, stopping at the Safehouse. The cruise up along the lake & hit Bradfors beach, veterans park, etc. Hit Leons for icecream once the sun starts to drop a bit. My thoughts on this are more of a "just hanging out, bullshitting, riding a little & stopping for a bite to eat or drink, etc." Buddy type stuff where you actually get to know the people you are with. Hard to get to know someone when you are doing 80mph out in the county. For the people who want to "ride/ride/ride/& ride some more" get the routes & post em. For those who just want to relax & take it ez & see the local sites & BS, we can just wing it. Who's up for an "on the Border" trip? I think Spidey would be very interested. |

CJM, Don't feel bad, that's just life sometimes. I'll tell you the story about why Steve Slaughter can't make it when I met you in Racine. EZ just bought property, so he's tapped money-wise. In the beginning I intended to go the this great event that you are all cooking up, even if I had to go alone. It just happens that it's happening that way. I'll just have to go my own pace and enjoy myself. James |

Jprovo...Yep, being a former Californian, allow me to assure you that lane splitting (white line fever) is only legal in CA. Have been in Wisconsin four years now and still have a hard time disciplining myself not to do it especially during "slow'n'go" or at the intersections. Also be forewarned that folks here think I am nuts when I ride a few inches on either side of the white line. We know it is great for quick lane changes and conspicuity but they think it is a death wish. Then again, we know it as the next best thing to lane splitting but is legal unless you get some Nazi Cop on a bad day. LOL General Note to all attending the 20th. Compared to years past, the radar traps are minimal this year. Perhaps they are all saving up their overtime for Harley's 100th. Still keep in mind that more than 5 mph over the posted limit can get you one of those "Fast Rider Awards" for your "Wall of Shame" back home. Additionally, unless things have changed, WI has those multidirectional radar/laser devices that can get you coming or going at any angle and they love unmarked and camouflaged cars. So learn to spot them early upon entering the State and your stay will be more rewarding. My suggestion is to cool it in the straights and wick it up as you enter the twisties. Seems they only want the high speed tickets on the straights and ignore the fun stuff. See ya!!! |

Bomber, I have no needs myself at all. As you are painfully aware I live here so i can hit those spots anytime I want. I am just throwing ideas out against the wall to see if any of them stick. Outside of the Card deal & a dinner I havent seen anything else even suggested so far. It would be nice to know who is interested in a manic frenzied ride ride ride type deal, & who would be interested in a more toned down pace & just take it ez day by day. Like I said, nothing in stone yet. Just tossing ideas out. |

Dyna is a pervert...Dyna is a pervert!!! Strip Clubs...geez, what a waste. Take them down to the local watering holes where they stand a chance of getting some for themselves. Like some of the Hooker Heavens around Great Lakes Naval Station. |

ah, well, I know wwe read the same board, but I'm confused as I've seen bunches of suggestions, which generally lead to counter-proposals, which lead to you're an indiot, do it this way, to the point that I'm kinda surprised the entire thing wasn't called off due to bad attitude . . .. er, sorry . . .the AM version is there's been lots of suggestions, mostly for rides out to south central wisconsin, including a tour of S&S (long hual for a day, I'm thinkin) . . . there's the the BTrax on Friday, along with a sendoff grubfest I figure i will have helped plan and document a couple of runs, I'll show up, and have fun |

How many are planning on attending the Btrax on friday? Has to be better attended than the last 2 events. I know some folks will compete, so will just watch, some could care less. Im just saying lets have alternative plans in case folks dont want btrax, or the weather turns nasty & btrax is canceled. This goes for all the days. The people coming here from out of state are our guests. We invited them & should do our best to accomodate them with a range of activities. Kinda like going to Sturgis for vacation & then the weather turns shitty, its like "ok what the hell do we do now?". |

CJ what do you think of something like this? Im talking about a ride thru the downtown Milwaukee area, stopping at the Safehouse. The cruise up along the lake & hit Bradfors beach, veterans park, etc. I think it's a GREAT idea, but we need you to DO it, not just suggest it !! Get a really cool route, make up some direction sheets, copies to pass out, a little information on the possible cool spots to stop at !! I would love a ride like that myself ! I'm not saying we should do all of these, I'm saying let's be prepared to give out of towners information regarding tourist areas, dealers, neat rides, directions to get to the places they need like hotel, East Troy, Hal's, Uke's etc. etc. etc. Just the information, not plan the day !! Just have it handy if someone ask for it !! I would love to have a map/route of ALL the dealers if I was somewhere and I'd hit all of them and buy something from each place, yeah women love to shop !! "just hanging out, bullshitting, riding a little & stopping for a bite to eat or drink, etc." Buddy type stuff where you actually get to know the people you are with. I love hanging out and B/S too !! How about a nice list of cool spots to stop at, and the one's to be avoided ?? All your suggestions are good, just needs to be done, can you/will you do it !!????
