Well It all started about a year ago my fiancé and I were invited to come to England for her friends wedding. So we decided to make a vacation out of it. I talked to Ferris a few days before, telling him I wish I could put Ferris Bueller stickers over the UK for him but they don’t make any. He then reminded me that not only was it him putting up the stickers but it was also D putting up stickers! So with that in mind I made a mini FB+D to tour with me! Along with a few Spidey stickers and the stuffed Spidey I always bring with me on bike trips. We flew into Heathrow leaving the US Saturday at 10pm and arriving at 12pm Sunday. With some smooth taking I got to get free drinks at the British Airways first class lounge.
We then hoped over to Eustan<sp> station and took a train to Liverpool. Here is FB+D getting ready in the train and who left that there?
We couldn’t get an express so it took about 6 hours. We got to walk around Albert docs for a few before grabbing something to eat and hitting the sac.
View from the room and FB+D approve! The following morning we walked around downtown Liverpool.
This is a memorial to all the imigrants who left the Liverpool dock to go to America
Spidey was here!
NOOO TIMMY!! (a sculpture outside a church)(That's not it's name just thought it was funny ) Then went to the Beatles Experience right next to out hotel and then on the Magical Mystery Tour taking us to all the spots that made and were made famous by the Fab Four.
Then afterward we went to the Cavern Club, the place the Beatles played the most, then walked to China town for dinner, we also walked around to the large cathedrals and took a TON of pics (too many to post) and back to the hotel.
Spidey was here too!
So was FB+D
Grafittie older than out own country! The next morning we took an express train back to London. We got to our hotel which was right down the street from Buckingham Palace and only 3 blocks from the Tube stop! This made traveling around London cake
The view from our hotel room.
Buckingham Palace down the road.
The pub a few doors down, it was great! Nice atmosphere and great beer! The same day we got to the hotel in London we walked 2 miles to Warrs H-D
Some one must have put a Buell sticker up on their building cause there were no Buell shirts there!!!
Spidey wanted to play circus outside a army Building! (the people watching across the street were quite confused LOL)
Yes this is a real T-Rex fossil and yes it was for sale and I didn't dare ask LOL Later in the afternoon we took the tube to Piccadilly and Hanleys the biggest toy store in london!
Display at Hanley's The next day we took the tube to Grenich
Spidey on the tube
Spidey and FB+D have now been in both Hemispheres at once!
A meteor you can touch at the Observatory at Greneich
What's the oldest thing you touched LOL We then took the tube back to London to see more sites
TEHE
The Tower of London is a great time, If you ever go I suggest it! The Beefeater that gave us the tour was funny and knew his stuff! We then headed north to a very famous place.
We then went to dinner at a nice place. the Coke was in glass bottles and made with sugar not corn syrup! BEST COKE I EVER HAD!
The next day we went on a day tour of Salsbery Cathedral, Stonehenge and Bath
It is a lot smaller in person.
Been here too FB+D
This is what Stonehenge used to look like.
Bot he gets around! The Roman baths at Bath are cool!
a very old cathedral at Bath
The next day we went to a suburb of London to have a picnic with the Bride and groom and their family. Afterwards we took the tube back to London to see more sites.
St Pauls cathedral
Big Ben
FB+D enjoying the view of Parliment from the London Eye. We also took a tour of Parliment which I would also recomend doing!
FB+D at the top of London!
Some night pics of London. It was a great time and if anyone wants any pics in hi res let me know. I took over 1000 pics so there is a lot not seen here, you can email me and if I have it I'll send it to you. |

I saw that Spiderman doll crawling along the side of the freeway in Racine back at Homecoming. How'd he make it all the way to England? |

Very nice. How was the hotel priced? Did you use any links or books to plan out the trip, or did you just wing it (so to speak)? Looking forward to more pics. |

sorry for the pic delay but getting back into the swing of things (no pun intended) after being gone for a week is hectic LOL I guess I need a vacation from my vacation! LOL MikeJ. A lot of it was "winged" IE the tour of Parliament, the London Eye, Abbey Rd, Self guided tube tour of London and Greenwich. We arranged a few things online. We got special rail passes called Brit Rail that allows us unlimited daily travel on any train (no tubes) for X amount of days, IE we used one day to take a train from Heathrow to Kingscross Station then to Liverpool I also booked the Beatle "Magical Mystery Tour" on line and we booked out Stonehenge/Bath/Salisbury tour via the internet. Everything is pretty much double! Staying London prepare to spend triple if you want a real hotel. At Albert Docks in Liverpool we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and the rate was decent 100 bucks a night. In London we stayed ata "Hotel" that was more like a bed and breakfast, with a shared bathroom and was about 75 bucks a night. I can get you detailed prices if you want. Here is a list of things I can remember. Pint 4.60-4.00 Average dinner 10 to 15 Fish and chips 7-10 small bag of crisps .50 pence London eye 15.00 Liverpool football jersey 31.00 (all prices in pounds) Be careful not to get sucked into the real touristy stuff, Like the London War Museum and there is also a "Torture" Museum which really sucked, according to books and also do not waste your money on the "Jack the ripper" tour that also apparently is a wash. One place I didn't get to go and am really mad about is the Ace Cafe. |

FWIW, Do not make a special trip to Warr's H-D like I did. We walked 2.5 miles to the dealer only to find no Buell shirts. When I asked to speak to the "Buell guy" that I was an American Buell rider and took my time to come to Warr's cause of their success with the RR I got the same look I get at any H-D dealer when I ask for anything Buell |

Regarding Warrs. Warrs have their showroom workshop facility just off the Kings Road in Chelsea. A mile or so down the road, actually on The Kings Road, Warrs have a HD clothing boutique. For this reason, the showroom workshop facility don't stock a lot of clothing. Especially so the more fashionable stuff. Rocket |

You went to the wrong Buell dealership! There are just two HD dealerships in the entire UK that I would recommend to anyone interested in Buells. Neither of them is Warrs. |

Well Steve, I wouldn't write Warrs off. I've been made very welcome by some of the team at Warrs over the years. One thing is sure. They have the experience and personnel to screw a good motor together. You just have to get to know them maybe. Rocket |
