yo FMJ! Sat night we'll be tippin' 'em back on Cannery Row. let's hook up down there Sat night when you get done at Tarpy's, or at the track on Sunday. Bob 'n Deb, i didn't know you guys weren't doing Laguna -- shit! well then, see youse Friday 7/18 in Woodland? whatya think about breakfast in Woodland early, before we descend upon Horseshoe Lake Park? oh yeah, i'm bringin' the Viffer, fer a couple of reasons. firstly, it's a much better sport-tourer than the White Lightning, especially since i'll be carryin' camping gear and the like. secondly, if i whoop Mike on Sunday at the ThunderCross in Packwood on a lowly old VFR, it'll just RUIN his day! Misato, hard to predict when we'll hit Windy Ridge. depends a lot on weather (the snowstorm in '99 REALLY slowed us down), and how many bikes decide to fly off the mountain after we gas up in Cougar. why not meet us in Woodland early Sat morning? Shotgun, cool idea about the ride out to Buell. let's make the call on this one on Friday at the park in Woodland, after we determine if anyone is still sober enough to ride... FB |

Ferris- I am right there with you! I have not taken any vacation time since Border Raid and then prior to that it was SPLASH..... I am totally looking forward to actually taking 3 days off in a row to be able to ride and hang out with the coolest cats in town.... Or is that from out of town? FiremanJim- we are still planning on having you shack up with Debbie Thurs night at our house. Sounds like the other CA people have lodging figured out for Thursday, let me know if there is a need. We are only 20 minutes away from Horseshoe Lake right off I-205. We can set up our own tent and inflate the two queen size air mattresses and provide additional lodging if needed. There is plenty of room, plus buckets, soap, wax etc that might be needed to clean up the bikes. I'm sure you'll be catching a few bugs on the way up. Did I mention that I am so excited? |

Misato, i'm not exactly sure, but probably around 0800. i'm hesitant about you meeting us at Windy Ridge because of all the variables. if you can make it to Woodland on Satarday morning for the launch, that'd be cool. i'm off for Laguna Seca in the morning and not back online for 16 days or so, but maybe Bob 'n Deb will jump in and dial in our Saturday launch time a little better for you. all: my cell is 760/379-7883. see you soon. FB ps Kimberlie: can't wait!!! |

Misato, Launch time is between 8:00 and 9:00 am. The larger the group the harder it is to get everyone together. You need to be there or there may be a Flogging owed to you when we finally find you! Oh!, dont even think we wont!! We may even put the BAD eye on ya! See you there, In The Rain Forest Bob |

Here are a few pics from SuperSPLASH 2003. We had a nice group show up for the BBQ on Friday. Below are a few of the many distinguished guests at the party. Ferris and AcidBurn are on the far left behind the BBQ. Matt and GreenEric are standing between the poles. Jeremy with a hand on the hip talking to FiremanJim while Al Lighton listens on. Gumby and Sharon have their backs to the pic while they feed their fronts. And there is that Buellnuts tird waiting for some cold beer. We beat the heat by tearing up the lake with the boat. A shot below of FiremanJim suffering death by inner tube, way too much fun. The ride Saturday morning was incredible. And here to give an honorary pre-ride lecture was non other than Ferris himself. Notice how the camera caught his aura. Here is Don at Windy Ridge pointing out the chipmunk that just bit him. Guess he didn’t read the sign, they only bite Canadians eh. It’s incredible how much devastation still remains after 20+ years from the explosion. Here is a mudflow near Spirit Lake. Then there was the ThunderCross on Sunday. I only stayed a short time, as I wanted to get home to my ailing wife. Here is Ferris on the VFR wishing he had the Blurr. And a shot of Lorraine beating on her Blast as she powers through the corner. I high tailed it towards home after about an hour or so at the ThunderCross. I crested the hill past Randle just before Morton when a sudden clunk bang got my attention. Pulled in the clutch and coasted to the side as I hear expensive noises emanating from the final drive pulley area. It looks like the bearing and seal blew out on the final drive shaft causing gear oil to dribble down to the belt and spit it all over the rim and wheel. So I push it for a mile or so to a closed weigh station. Changed into some shorts and street shoes and started walking to Morton. Kat on his X1 still wearing number 13 from the ThunderCross found me walking on the road and gave me a ride to Morton, thanks Kat I owe you one. I happened to get a ride back to Portland from my son returning from a weekend in Seattle. Then hook up the trailer and drive back to Morton to retrieve my broken Buell. So I finish another SPLASH on the back of a trailer. Had a great time at SPLASH renewing old friendships and making lots of new ones. I’ll patch up this old M2 and look forward to next year with a goal of finishing on two wheels. Don’t miss SPLASH 2004!

i can't even begin to describe this deal. Laguna Seca was unforgettable. 4-Play was even MORE unforgettable. and SPLASH was more unforgettable yet. i'm now comfortably ensconced at my Mom's crib in Bremerton, enjoying her friendship, and savoring what has been, by far, the greatest ride of my life. a big thanks go out to all who were a part of this. i hope to have words to go with the emotions soon. Bob, glad you're back online. thanks for the hospitality, and damn glad that Deb's ok. to anyone with a will and a way, i launch EARLY Thursday morning for AfterGlow, which will include Crater Lake, Lassen, Tahoe, and Mammoth Lakes. call me on my cell if you wanna come along for the ride. XOXOXO, FB |
