The next day (and all too soon) it was time to head back to work. Along the way I stopped to shoot these pinkish-purple wildflowers, which are everywhere along the roads thru the foothills. Think I'm exaggerating? Check out the roadcuts in Jerry's latest posts. It's true - they're everywhere! and they're simply gorgeous |

Thanks, all. With all the frustration at the lack of good broad vista shot opportunities, I had a great time looking for the more intimate scenes. Can't wait for the ankle to recover more fully so we can really hike back in to some new views! Thanks for looking. Wish y'all could see the Fen pics in full resolution ... there is so much fine detail that's lost in downsizing! I can see some BIG prints coming from that set of shots. Funny, the Fen is only a minute's walk from a fairly major tourist spot on the valley floor, but appears to be very lightly visited. It is an awesome, don't miss spot if/when you visit Yosemite! |

A coupla years ago, Ferris and I took a day and rode thru every mountain pass in the Southern Sierra. This past Sunday, Char and I tried to hike to as many of Yosemite's waterfalls as we could. While I'm sure we only hit a small percentage, they were spectacular! Here're some pics from our day.

The previous three pics are taken from the Mist Trail on the climb to Vernal Falls. Despite the lovely rainbow, produced by the mists of the falls, the lovely Char stopped where she stands and declared that she wasn't climbing any further. So, if you're hoping for a picture from the top of Vernal Falls, well, you're sh*t outta luck. And a shot across at Nevada Falls. Whoops, no falls in this shot ... how the hell did that happen. Sorry

Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls Bridalveil Falls ...and just a couple of road cut scenes along the road to Yosemite Valley from the south entrance of the park.

Speaking of the Valley, one last view from the valley floor, with Yosemite Falls in the distance.

"Likely not 'till last year though"---when precisely is that???? |

Fireman asked : when precisely is that???? Oh, let's see. I "only" need to finish a kitchen, the living room, a bathroom (or two), all of the outside of the house, the entire basement and the garage ... in other words, shouldn't be long ... Henrik |

So the fact that you posted --not until last year-- entirely missed your notice?? Maybe you meant NEXT year??? |

Hmmm, seems that it's been awhile since I've added to the Mariposa thread. Well, this weekend I had to do a solo trip up there to reseal the redwood deck and found that I'd accidentally brought a camera or two along. Under the circumstances, it seemed irresponsible not to grab a scoot and head for Yosemite for a late afternoon ride...here's some views.
