It's a kinda tounge in cheek thing that the residents of Northland at the top of the North Island claim the country's best climate. I had a day riding the Buell around some pretty special roads and private property too. This Aussie boy still rides around the place 'gobsmacked'. These are around Whangarei Heads (pron: fong er ray). Produced a 'video' of the day here: http://www.davidcohen.co.nz/nothflash/whanga.html Or just the money shots: I was also too gobsmacked by the spectacle of comet macnaught to get my sh*t together to get a decent shot before it all but... The pic doesn't do it any justice at all - 'By far the most spectacular astrological event wot I ever saw.' I said. Staring, blinking. Heaps more pics in the vid. dd |

Very nice Dave. Beautiful country! Just wondering if you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera are you using? |

Not at all - A now defunct Konica Minolta Dimage A200. Nice compact 8mp with lovely glass and some nice features. Fits in a bum bag - even with the tele adapter. Not as fast as the big cannons or nikons, but the size makes up for what I do touring/onboard wise and I get good results. Sony liked it so much they bought the company so i cant post you a link. |
