Hey guys, Bob and I returned home last night after a nice 3 day ride down to Arkansas. We left late (11am) Friday. Once in Arkansas we rode Push Mountain Road, also known as The Arkansas Gap. (AR 341). It was almost dark when we reached the end of it so we took it easy and made our way to Marshal via rt.27. Spent the night there at the Sunset Motel. (very old but clean and it had a good air conditioner). The next morning we took off south on Rt 27 down to Russelville where we tried to get an oil change for Bob's new ST1300 at the local Honda shop. No deal, too busy selling four wheelers. We then made our way on to Mount Nebo. You have to ride the road to the top to believe it. 18 percent incline with 180 degrees, 1st gear switchbacks all the way up. Once on top we had a nice view of the entire area below. We continued on south on Rt 27 to Rt 10 and then West to Havana. We then headed north on Rt 309 to Mount Magazine. Again the views were great but could have been better had it not been so cloudy. After getting off the montain we continued on to Paris where we ate before taking the Pig Trail Scenic Byway (Rt 23) north towards Eureka Springs. About halfway thru the byway it started to rain, hail, and blow like crazy. That lasted for about a half hour, then stopped. When we arrived at the Iron Horse Stables in Eureka Springs all was clear. We spent the night there. Bob found lots of people to talk to. I just sat by the open fire resting and listening to all the B/S. tales each was telling. The next morning we were off to ride a road that has just recently been paved; a section of Rt 123. This section is just south of Vendor near Mount Judea and continues on south to Pelsor. This is a MUST RIDE if you are ever near the area. After arriving in Pelsor we took Rt 16 east to Tilly where we got back on Rt 27 and headed north to Push Mountain Road one last time before we had to head home. Bob never saw the snake. It could have bit him.

Hey John, Sounds like a great ride. Blake and I were there in the same area and same roads a couple of weekends before you. It was one of the best rides I've been on. Where are you from? Keith |
