Ebear: I'm with you; I like it. If I were in the buying mode, I'd likely go with the Ulysses. But I must say that the new TT would, given my New York City "Urban Assault" riding environment, get serious consideration. This bike is everything I, and a host of others, ask for after the CityX came out. We loved it, wanted a tad more fuel on board, room, suspension and power. Buell tossed that wish list to the hands of a new young engineer and told them to come up with something to meet what Buell owners were asking for and to have it ready for a mid-year intro, to get it in folks' hands. I'm particularly impressed that the Buell folks responded and took kind of a "it's not THAT much different, but it's the platform many owners are wanting....let's give it a crack". I see it more, regardless of how the bike spins your gyrator, as an exercise in responsiveness and well executed. No one at Buell will deny the "parts bin" blathering and I, like them, am very pleased that the team spent their time on the new suspension (this is the best suspension (keen eyes will reveal new components) ever put on a Buell. The "parts bin" thinking was largely intentional (although I'm sure they didn't call it that) in deference to the fact that owners would be modifying the bikes. Don't like the number plates? Look how tough it is to ditch them. No rocket science degree required to make this bike ANYTHING you want it to be. . . I'm already scouting the horizon for some keen looking Super Motard iterations.
The seat is kinda cool too. There are differing densities of foam in different areas. . . . nice for an ass like mine. The embossing, see original artwork from last year, is to meet gov't requirements for a bike without rear pegs.
Needless to say, you can easily toss the plates, install the pegs and change the seat. Once you past the "I like the plates, I don't like the plates" dialogue this bike begins to strut it's mettle when ridden and ridden hard . . . a "good thing" for a motorcycle. My favorite part is always watching the test engineers cringe when I leave the factory on a new bike. Frankly, I'm not the rider I once was and th older guys are comforting the young engineers. . "no really, it'll be okay". My first comment was that it doesn't need a shift light. Just as the needle touches 100 in 3rd, the soft limit starts . . . ditto 120 in 4th. . . 5th? And to the ZTL pundits I'll simply say when I got on the brakes on this bike I was quite glad to have that extra 2" of frame. This thing comes to a halt pronto. Fun stuff and I know of 4 already spoken for and the Europeans seem to have a lust for this bike based on e-mail I am getting. It's a most capable, incredibly well built motorcycle that is Fun. . . . that's the way I see it. Court

Eric, Where is the picture of our true girl, Leslie Prevish (she said she saw you on Friday night)? She will always to me be the true smile and face of my Buell S3T days. Leslie is what Buell is all about. I had a great time getting caught up with her, even if she was pushing Dyno Glides at the show. |

Matt, I did, got an Ortho memory foam mattress. Tried the tempurpedic, liked the Ortho better. Sadly, it isn't changing things for the better. But I'm sleeping more comfortably. More pics, Eric! AL |
