Yeah, I made my reservations. I'm staying with friends who live in Brown Deer.(I think that's a suburb of Milwaukee) I'm looking forward to having some hot wings at Hooters. |

Hot wings from Hooters ARE good, but I like to get mine to go, since they don't have too many studly, manly kinda men there !! LOL CJM |

Just checking in here. Are the schedules solidified yet? All the back reading I did suggests uncertainty. Other than B-trax and possible tours, what else is on the list, besides beer? If I can swing being home on these dates, I'll join in. I'd rather do more riding than loitering tho. Perhaps I can be Newfie's wing man on his way home too. Did a fly and ride there once, but would like to ride my own there this time. I haven't ridden across eastern Canada anyway. Been to the west side and could care less about the middle of it. Then again, so can east and west Canada! Is there a ferry from Placentia to Sydney? Are those the correct names? Hope you can do 1000 miles/day Newfie or I'll be home to your wife before you! That'd be a great ride home: NF to TX! And potential for "My longest ride" column in Fuell. |

Bob, The boat actually goes from North Sydney to Argentia (maybe some of the ex military guys can comment on Argentia as it was a fairly large naval installation for the US during WWII and right up to a few years ago). That boat is actually about 18 hrs long. I would take the one from North Sydney to Port-Aux-Basques then ride across the island, if we do that I can take you up the Northern Peninsula where the scenery is second to none in the world. Two years ago I ran into a guy from Texas on a BMW R1150 (the big dual purpose one), he had been on the road for 8 months and was about 4 months from going home. He had indicated that he was in Maine and never been to Canada so he actually ended up in Newfoundland - the most easterly point in North America. I hope your riding the X1 as the FXDX will have a hard time on our twisty roads, you will have the pipes and pegs wore off that one. If you want some more info on my ride up then check out the Storm Fronts Section or e-mail me. |
