ah Dino, you old scoundrel, ye' bring a tear to me eye, mate, you really do. as i was scrolling your last batch of pix the words, "Ahhhhhh, NICE!" sprung from my lips just as natural and pretty as you please. dammit kids, we do miss Oktoberfast. it's so much work, and me 'n D stress way more than you know trying to make it all things to all people. and every year when it's done we breath a HUGE sigh of relief, and then spend the next week getting the 'Dome (and ourselves) whipped back into shape. and yet every year, about the time the fall winds wail and the winter rains rail, i find myself going back thru the words and the pix and re-living the weekend all over - and over and over and over - again. i've said it so much that i'm beginning to fear the words have lost their magic, but the power of Oktoberfast lies in the people who play, and this year, just like the first two, the players were major league, right on down to young Luke Barr. you'll forgive if i get a little misty eyed, and you'll laugh along with me, i hope, as i type thru the textured tapestry of emotion, but O'fast '05 was the stuff of legend and lore, and the thanks go to all of you. and to all of us. we miss Oktoberfast.
