Supposed to be the big Austin-Healey, 3000 I think, and about a 1971 Spider (spyder? spider?). The guy I got it from was a certified (certifiable) Fiat mechanic and rebuilt the engine, so it should be fresh. Ping me at work if you'll be in the area up here sometime and I'll unbury it for a looksee. No arm twisting from me though, it's in the category of "if it goes it goes and if not then not" background projects. |

hmmmmm . . . .we'll likely talk if we bump at the crud, MJ . . . . I've got a '31 Model A that needs some attention, and my wife has decided her blast is not a long term bike for her (it was perfect as a re-entry scooter, though . . . .what you and I think of as responsive handling, she finds irritatingly twitchy ) you have given me something to think on, though (just what I needed) ;-} |

Hello crew, Sorry I've been absent. I had a little mishap and currently have a right foot with three broken bones!(not motorcycle related) I've been off work for a month now, but just got back today. If you guys are looking for a place to meet up for the Crud Run there is a Denny's just north of Hwy 12 on Gammon rd. Gammon rd intersects 12 and is really easy to find/see. We met there before going down to meet the Waterloo boys for our Multi Brag ride last year. As for me going to the ride I'll be on four wheels with cruches, but I'll likely be down there around 10:30/11 a.m. in Pine Bluff. See you guys there!!! Marty Hunt Sauk Prairie BRAG |

Bomber, Include the Blast in your thinking, or the Model A, and who knows what may happen. See you on the 6th. |

Gotta go home and correct my albums, gotta change all the V's to W's. Wait, don't have Wagner nor Vagner at home, nevermind. Bring out the "A" and let the screaming commence.

I had a 1928 double-A when I first moved here (AA truck, not the AA battery). The beast would always without fail let loose one huge backfire about 3 seconds after you turned it off. Sounded like a 30-06 going off. That truck's up in northern Wisconsin now, probably scaring all the neighborhood dogs. chitty chitty bang BANG. Lots of fun. Time for class, gotta run, or ride, or get there somehow. bye. |

Bomber...Looking for a new scoot for the wife? Lets talk at the Crud. I've recently acquired another '98 S3T for for a good pricehigh miles though, 36K. It checks out great with the service dealer and has a TON of after market parts (Banke shifter & brake lever, Makuni flat slide carb, race aircleaner, race front fork springs, Zero Gravity higher screen, etc, etc, etc). I'm basically going to strip the parts I want and replace with stock. It'll still have a V&H can, K&N filter & Thunderslide Jet Kit. |

Hey Dave, I was planning on coming Tue. but I forgot that Darrell wasn't. I waited around for him so long that it was too late. I will probably come on the Slimy. I really hated missing last Sunday's ride though. Man I hate commitments (sometimes I think I should be committed.) |

It's likely a gaggle of Uke'ers will be heading up 12 and fueling at S (or mineral point road I guess) and then heading into Pine Bluff with a target time of 10:00. This will be my first time doing this run so the time is strictly a guess... Look for the group of bald guys |

Anyone know if there is a place to get race gas up in and around the run? I am thinking about riding my newly street legal race bike with 13:1 compression and with only four gallons, I don't think I can make it and back without getting some gas. Now if only I can fabricate a kickstand by Sunday.....otherwise I can just stand around holding the bike up. |

Snowdave, There's a chain-link fence around the volleyball court in Pine Bluff that some sidestandless people have been known to lean their bikes up against. In leyland you'll have to get there early to have access to a tree or telephone pole to lean it against. There's probably some race gas around Madison as I've heard there are several speed shops around town, and Sauk H-D/Buell may have some in their shop (Marty there would know), but I can't say for certain so you might want to bring along a pocket full of octane booster just in case. |

Intellicast forecast Sunday: Variably cloudy with a few showers from time to time. High near 60F. Winds SW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 40%. There's a big old line of north-south running rain front you have to negotiate. Might break up over where anyone is, or not. I might or might not be there, and might or might not turn around. Real windy here north of Milwaukee as well, and wind and rain don't mix well at times. Well, they do if you like riding in a blender.

Man was it cold on Sunday morning when 9 of us left Waterloo to head to the crud run. We stopped in Dubuque to pick up three more riders and gas up. Made it to Pine Bluff about 11:30. First person I see is Dyna and his wife. He heard the forcepipe and knew I was in town. Met Roger and Mike. Dale Baker came over and said hi. Charlette came over and introduced herself. There were about 2-300 bikes there of all makes and models. We looked around a little and then went inside for a burger. By the time we were done with lunch the crowd had thinned to just a few bikes. Kevin from Dubuque had a map so we appointed him as the leader. We only got a little lost a couple times but finally made it to Leland. Ran into Marty from Sauk, he's down to only using one crutch! Got to see everyting from a VMax with a blower to a Bostrom replica race Ducati! The guys with the VMaxs put on a smoke show before they left. All too soon it was time to head back to Iowa. It was still cold and very windy. We stopped in Dubuque to drop off the guys from there and gas up for the final 90 miles home. We thanked Kevin for being our tour guide for the day and headed out. The wind was blowing us all over the road on the last leg home. Got home about 8pm all in all a great day. Gone 12 hours rode about 430 miles,no crashes this time,no breakdowns and everyone had a good time. -------------------- Ride to the edge! Yes Dave, It was nice to finally put a face with the endless chatter. As for me, I got to be 'bitch for the day' because I rode on the back of a friend's DynaGlide. That damn thing was getting blown all over the road. Swooosh...putt putt putt. Post some pictures if you have them. Lots of neat models (bikes, not men, that is). Gotta go. Charlotte |

Mikej, It was fun meeting you too. I was in Leeland watching that guy kick the s*** out of his Royal Enfield to get it started. Will most definitely bring the bike at some point, though spring. After the 60's (cross your fingers) coming up in a few days here, the M2L is going nighty night for a few months I think. Charlotte |

That was an Enfield? I saw some shaggy dude stomping sidesaddle on what I thought was an older Sportster. Guess I should have looked closer. I almost went over there to ask if I could try a few kicks to bring back memories of my old XLCH, but then my knee spoke up and said that wouldn't be such a good idea. Yep, you've got a bit more winter than we do down here in the southern part of the state. I try to get my bike out at least once a month if I can in the winter just for grins. So far I've managed to do so for the most part. |
