All, Sounds like a great time was had by all (except for the above x-rays, heal fast, Joanne!). Seeing the driveway of the Thunderdome brings back memories... Can't wait to make it out again in the next few years. NOW... Where are the passed-out Ferris pics? There have to be some, just like the Goldschlager pics from Springfast. It's too bad there's no events up here in the northeast like this...you guys would love the mountain roads. Looks like an awesome time! Al, sorry to hear about Joanne. She'll be relying on you to do things for her that you wouldn't expect (it was a couple weeks before I could button my pants!). Tell her to take it easy and don't push it. Just wait...I know I had to sleep on my back because of it and I snored the wife out of the bedroom!  | ||

Joanne...sorry to hear about the break; better that U got the Xray to see what was going on. Joanne just didn't ride back to the Lodge like a block from the house, she rode a good ways back...miles back with more twisties. It was a very, very dirty corner that others of us had passed earlier in the afternoon...dirty, like an inch or so thick of sand just mounded up. Ebear actually filmed it not knowing Joanne had gone down. We looked at it later on the big screen TV and could see just how dirty it was. I agree Ferris...great group. BTW...Charlieboy, just what is the story about the broken foot peg? Enquiring minds what to know. | ||

Ebear Let me guess on that record, lets say, Yohkol Road maybe? I will tell you though, seeing that machine just a dot in your mirrors, and seconds later bumping the rear tire, can be a bit sobering to think about how hard you were going. What a beautiful machine too, awesome color and sound!! FB Did you ever get the imprint of that stubborn XB12S off your mirror? Just wondering! Hey do you have a picture of that front rubber on the FJR?? I SO want to show my buddy that, he does not believe me you can wear the sides out before the center on the streets!! Just to let you all kknow, DUC is on the road again, currently heading west through the valley to highway 1, then on to San Luis Obispo, on to Vista and American Sport Bike, then to a Monday night Steelers game in San DIego with his Dad and Brother. I have downloaded now all the pictures of the weekend between myself and Duc, and will be posting them up later today. As of now, I am fealing a bit "de-duc'd".......... Keep dropping lines everyone! JB2: Mr. and Mrs. Barr, i.e. Dave and Susan, and their son Luke were here on Friday night. Dave signed autographs and sold books and DVD's, and regaled us with stories from the road. and, true to form, he thanked all of US for inviting him to Oktoberfast. he is a wonderful person, as are Susan and Luke, and yes, i guess you could say we've furthered the connection. RR, no, i did NOT get that SOB'n XB12 off my arse, try as i might! i bet, however, that had you been two-up on an FJR, or had i been one-up on an XB12, i *might* have done a little better... somebody got pix of my front tire when we got back. if they don't show up soon, i'll run down to the garage and grab a few. um, maybe i could ship your buddy what's left of the tire for proof? Duck, YOU ARE THE MAN! please keep in touch as you can, and THANK YOU for helping make Oktoberfast '05 so unforgettable!!! FB&D | ||

DINO Thats a ditto on my part as well, as duc had some GREAT photos of both OctoberFast as well as the rest of his trip. He woould have to tell about them, but they are GREAT pictures!! So if anyone wants a disk of what we have as well, lets figure a way out to have like a disk sharing/mailing list. Ferris, he is not worth the shipping on the tire, I mean I have yet to see him wear down the sides on his "CBR600F4i superscooter", much less shred them. Have you ever seen a square tire, its pretty funny on that bike of his. Pictures will do just nicely soon enough!! | ||

Tuff don't describe it.....For a person with the NICEST demeanor I know,she's the toughest of tough!(maybe has something to do with living with AL??)???...Nah......Riding 20 miles like that would be horrific for anybody!!...My offer still stands to you two..... | ||

O.K. Jerry ... here's the "beans". I crashed in your driveway at the very end of the ride. I told Charlie it's all his fault for making it look so simple getting up that mountain you live on. Thankfully, it happened at the very bottom of the driveway. I fear my bike may have slid down your mountain otherwise. Anyway, the footpeg was the only casualty and Charlie says he has plenty of spares in the garage. No injuries, just a bruise on my left knee. So there you have it, my first official crash while actually moving on the bike!  | ||

That, Liz, is proof right there, that it happens to the BEST of us sometime!! But thats cool, as you shredded everywhere else, we can overlook that minor incident!! I mean you hung out on 190, 155, dry creek road, 245, I mean hell, what a great set of braggin rights you have there!! And now you can quit worrying about when its gonna happen the first time (crashing that is!! ) Charlie, you better be taking care of that there knee brother, and get that peg fixed ASAP, never leave a rider down, even in the driveway!!! Joanne - You are amazing to say the least. I was whining over a broken toe a few months back! And to get back on and ride all the way back to the Lodge!!! Heal fast and let Al pick up those boxes! Liz - Sooooo relieved it was not anything worse as we had been fearing. Which driveway BTW? The first or the second? I refuse to go either in or out of the first one on the bike. Have been looking for some of those huge "back up" mirrors to put on the poles across the road from each driveway entrance to help with watching for traffic around the corners. LOL! @ 2 of em... RR, I am pretty proud of Eliz... She was beat, but she did it! Hell, I was beat! At Thunderdome, I had just dismounted when I heard vroooooooom! put put put... A telltale noise that meant only one thing. The rear had gone out. I ran to the edge only to see Eliz standing there with here hands on her hips staring at her now horizontal bike. Too funny. I could see the puck me expression through the helmet!!! If you know my wife, this is not the time to say anything...  LOL! I just made sure she was OK and got her bike up the hill! A driveway like that is best done on the gas looking at the top that's for sure... | ||

Did I say Squintier????   .....and as the beam of light left his Cranium he came to realize THEY WERE ALL ALIENS and he should fake sleep if he was to survive......   ...and then the poor little insecure canoe saw a Buell go buy and said.."I can do it !!,..I KNOW I can do it...so a wheelie he did.... Tuff don't describe it.....For a person with the NICEST demeanor I know... i second that, too. as bad as she was hurting Saturday night, still a little "shocky", and yet she was STILL gracious and smiling (in-between the grimaces and clicking sounds from her shoulder, anyway). Joanne, if i ever get in a bar fight i want you on my side. O.K. Jerry ... here's the "beans". I crashed in your driveway at the very end of the ride. BUMMER! you mean all the technical riding we put you thru this weekend, and you biff at the 'Dome? well, at least you didn't have to ride far on a busted foot peg! hey CB, er, how was the drive home??? gotta watch that lower driveway. there are multiple reasons why we so strongly encourage everyone to use the UPPER driveway. it sucks, but it's the price we pay for the view. Eliz, glad you're alright, and glad you came and rode with us. i'll will hang your "souvenir" in the garage right next to the headlight grille from Duck's Uly for all to see! Oktoberfast is about the toughest 300-mile loop of pavement you'll ever find. What can I say - I'm an equal opportunity photographer. I can make anybody look bad!
