Looking back over the pics I was struck by two things. One, I still think that fire escape pic is cool. That it works so well turned on its side shows that it's a strong graphic image. It reminded me of the work of a photog who does a lot of pics with stark, vibrant colors - often with the saturation pushed up in post-processing. I was thinking that the fire escape pic would be interesting with the color saturation turned way up to really juice up the image. Very cool. Two, we never did see "the photos of the female joggers you’d better keep hidden from the wife." I, for one, feel cheated. |

"I'll try to do some captions later" I guess this is another way of saying "Remind me to tell you sometime...." Remember the "patch fines?" I'm gonna start fining you a pair of lizard-skin Tony Lama's every time I read "...Remind me..." or "...captions later..." Tell me about that cool old Beezer! rt |

"Andy Warhol - eat your heart out " Guess great minds DO think alike. Ol' Andy crossed my mind when I penned the thoughts about that image to Court. Great job with the colors! "Tell me about that cool old Beezer! " Yeah, I keep getting drawn back to that one. |

yikes -- even to a life-long participant in love-hate relationship with Chicago, who's only experience with NYC was spending the night in the Port Authority Bus Terminal (got a number of, ehem, interesting offers) you paint a marvelous and comelling picture, Court dunno what's driving this effort, but don't care -- just enjoyin the ride Thang -- what ever happened to the Flashback Art Linkletter promised us? I'm still waiting! |

Hey, if I'd had the crane pictures and your colorized fire escapes a couple weeks ago, there might have been some entries in the computer arts category of the Tri-County Art Exhibition and Competition by the famous American artist, B. Web! According to his bio, Mr. Web has a twin brother. Yes, he's an American twin. |

Court; I only have the resolution you posted here. If you shoot me *your* high res original I'll tweak them to match what I posted. Send the Guggenheim picture along and I'll play with it. Henrik |

I am really hoping that you have gotten a few more shots of the USS Intrepid? |

My Bad....the Intrepid, as you likely know, also has alongside it a submarine, the Concorde and a host of other famed vehicles. I drive past and have many shots from the West Side Highway (including the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary along side) but no "on deck" stuff. I need to schedule a day to steal away from work and do an entire photoessay. I am totally ga-ga over aircraft carriers and used to slip aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise and Midway when I was in the USMC and they were ported in San Diego. Aicraft Carriers, and I actually keep a Jane's sitting here next to the dining room window that overlooks New York Harbor, are basically floating cities with all the interesting attribututes. I am going to post, time permitting, later today some "street people" scense from Friday. The limiting factor for me, at this time, is having to go through and compress and resize pics one at a time. I think I need to break down and buy some REAL photo handling software. By the way, and you'd enjoy this, the kid I bought the D100 from popped for a $10K Canon Digital last week. He picked up a new Hasselblad large format as well. He prefers films but wanted to be "prepared" for digital...guess he is, huh? Court |

Several of you called yesterday.....I owe you an apology, if I sounded busy I was. Ship took on ballast to lower 5" to get under the Brooklyn Bridge. Heaviest load to ever arrive in New York Harbor and the first time this has ever been done. HBO is camped on site and the insurance people are aplenty. . .

Egads.....please. We're still getting over that at home and someone hung a pair of toy handcuffs on my office door yesterday. The amazing part is that those 3 detectives ACTUALLY followed me and tracked my online and work activity since May 26th before "pouncing". I'm curious to find out if they thought th trip to East Troy was to meet with my "contact". I'm at the point, and the detectives were to, where it was funny. Vickie hasn't arrived there yet and, as of today, remains in the "sell that damn camera" mode. Funnier yet is that one of my current projects is a tabletop book on Laundromats. I wonder if they noted "a heightened propensity to park down the block, walk to, set up tripod and photograph laundromats in sleezy neighborhoods". Mom didn't raise me to be a criminal.....I just evolved. Court - Inmate No. 4683349 P.S. - One of the detectives was suitable confused when he walked in and saw my pics from my White House days with Reagan, Haig and James Baker. I'd love to get a copy of their report. |

By the way....any of you in NEW YORK CITY who have seen the "if you see something, say something" ads...be on notice that the Feds take that stuff VERY SERIOUSLY. ADVISE: Do not sneak around New York City at night photographing a motorcycles and power plants (at 2AM) with a very "professional looking" Nikon. |

Court - You lead a very interesting life. BTW, aren't you spies supposed to use those little Minox cameras rather than that big ol' Nikon? Seems like I read that they had a little spy type Minox in digital now. Might want to pass that idea on to Ms. Vickie as an idea for your next birthday. |

>>>>Might want to pass that idea on to Ms. Vickie as an idea for your next birthday. No. . . . no . . . no. When she starts talking to me again, I'm fairly certain one topic will be the 5 cameras, multiple guitars and motorcycles. Look....I'm gonna grow up....I just need a little bit of time. She REALLY didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did. Court |
