Nice pictures! Looks like you had a great time at a great show. About 25 years ago I stayed in the Molalla area for a week or so. Don't remember any trains there then, that would have been a hoot to see. Rode some back roads on a old Yamaha and visited Portland and Mount Hood. Rode Amtrak home. Beautiful country and had a lot of fun. |

Unibear, Molalla is a great little town. We have family there so we get to visit that area often. Realy enjoy the back roads out through that area, lots of twists and turns. Jim |

Shoot, now I'm gonna have to get out the map to see where Molalla is! Yeah, Jim, I'd be embarrassed to be seen in the same room with that chopper. Now the orange Cobra on the other hand... |

You should of heard my son when he first seen it. Dad, what the hell is that? I am a big sucker for Cobra's. If I had the choice out of any car to own, it would be a Cobra. There is just something about raw american horse power! |

I was hoping to get out and run my new Canon 20D through its paces but I got stuck helping around the house. I did sneek away for a brief moment to capture this shot.

Had to make a road trip south of Portland today down to Woodburn, OR. On our way down we stopped at a little road side place on Highway 99 between Oregon City, OR (end of the Oregon Trail)and Canby, OR. Its called Pearsons and the have the most amazing chainsaw art I have ever seen. This is a shot of the young artist at work on an amazing carving. I was told by the owner that it only takes him 2 days to complete a horse of this size. When you look at this carving, it is so hard to believe that it was done with a chainsaw. This carving of an elk stood at least 8 feet tall. I wanted to take this bear home but it would not fit in the truck.

Jim, Those are great shots! Is that the place out on 99? I have always wanted to stop there. I want the moosey guy, he'd look good in the front yard. Loni |

Thanks Loni! It is the place on Highway 99 and if you ever get the chance you should take a peek. We liked the mooose too, good thing we don't have deep pockets right now, would have brought him home. Jim |

You know, from the way that horse is rearing up, I'd have to assume that it is supposed to be a stallion. If so, I'd guess he's feelin' real nervous about the position of the saw as shown in that picture...real nervous. |

Well, Mount Saint Helens is at it again. I missed the big plume, they are saying that it reached 35,000'. |

Jim, As I was driving home yesterday I saw the Mt. blow! What a view from the 205 bridge. When I first noticed it the plume was small and by the time I got home it was huge and heading east. Chris got some good pictures from the back yard. I will see if he will post some soon. How exciting! Loni |

Loni - Would be great to see the pics that Chris got yesterday. They said on the news Johnston Ridge may not open at all this year due to the eruptions that have been taking place. |

I heard that to after yesterday. Last week they were thinking of opening it. Sunday I got the Harley out for a ride and rode about 5 miles past the ape caves. Great day! By myself, riding safe (slow as usual)and enjoying the spring weather. All I saw was steam coming out of the mountian. I will see if I can get Chris to post some shots tonight. Loni |

When the kids told me the hill was blowing her top yesterday, I thought she was just letting off a little steam. Wish I would have been a little quicker on the draw with the camera and listened to the youngins. Things may be very interesting come July during SPLASH. Sounds like you had some fun on the Harley, would have loved being along for the ride. Its been a real drag havin my wrist in a cast, been a long 8 weeks. Tell Chris I will drive him over a cold beer for some picture posting. |

Been awhile since I have posted some pix’s, figured is was about time I got off my arse and take some photos. Was invited out to catch some moments in time of some NW bands in Portland over the weekend. These guys were great, they are called Stay Tuned (www.staytunedtheband.com) and they are out of Seattle, WA. Stay Tuned is a television rock tribute band. They play the songs from all of your favorite TV shows. All pix’s were captured with available light. Man let me tell ya that was tough. I have been in caves that have had more light then this little bar.

The next set of pix’s are a band called the Misfats (www.misfats.com). They are a Misfits tribute band with a fat twist to things. The music they play is classic punk at its finest. I use to work with the guitar player (Bill) and lead singer (Noland) back when I was a systems engineer. Had to use the on camera speed light to capture the next set of pix’s There was not a chance in hell I was going to be able to do any low light work with these guys bouncing all over the stage.

These next few pix’s are of a solo act of man that called himself Mystery Man. All I can say is WOW! He had complete and absolute control over his guitar and his singing was amazing. He played a lot of Beatles and Paul McCartney stuff along with other great tunes from America and Kansas. Available light was much better in this venue but it still made me and the 20D work for the shots. (Message edited by pdxs3t on April 04, 2005) |

These last series of pix’s are of a band called Crazy Train (www.crazytrain.us). They are an Ozzy Osbourne tribute band and play lots of old Black Sabbath tunes along with all of Ozzy’s tunes that he has done throughout his solo career. Sharon Ozbourne (Ozzy’s wife) mentioned these guys on here talk show and said that they are the next best thing to her husband and a must see live if one ever gets the chance.

The motorcycle gods were shining upon me yesterday. I was invited down to the corporate office of Motorczysz (www.motoczysz.com) in Portland, Oregon to do a photo documentary of a small open house that they had yesterday afternoon. The weather here in the NW has not been the kindest as of lately but today, it was warm dry and what makes the NW a place to be, especially when it come to motorcycles. I have to say, I was impressed with the turn out of support yesterday, it was a good mix of bikes and people. I was also impressed with the C1. It brought a very big smile to my face both times they started this unique machine. (Message edited by pdxs3t on April 22, 2005) |

Jim, You got some great Crazy Train shots. I particularly like CZ#3 (Ozzy), and the last shot of the guitarist. Is there "more to the story" about how the Motoczysz deal came about? Very cool! |
