you only think that because you never saw up close the paint job i laid on the V-Strom. ask Dino or UniBear, they'll tell you my eye for detail needs bifocals. | ||

What have you gone and done NOW???V-Strom still around??At least I keep buying Buells---just went through 2 1998 S-3's(one with destroyed crank and one that burnt pretty good) and have a 1996 S-2T on the way,looking at an S-1,also. A freakin' Lux-o-barge! Jeez,you are getting old! And don't tell me you actually paid for a haircut,there ain't nothin' there anymore. | ||

Yep, you can tell I'm a native Cali! A 5.1 hits nearly in my back yard and I just hop on the bike for a 100 mile ride without a care. After riding through a few 7's a 5 barely gets ones attention. Do hope it's not a preshock to a big one tho. Anybody care to bet on how long the peg feelers last on the new Tuning Fork Lux-o-barge?  AKA the Blue Sled. Somebody could make some real money here. | ||

FMJ, i wouldn't actually call the Rocket Sled a Lux-o-barge, but, come to think of it, it IS a pretty smooth ride. and "old"? coming from YOU? it is to laugh. the V-Strom has moved on to greener (yellower?) pastures. to steal Danny's line when i asked him about HIS V-Strom, "Well, I like it but I don't love it." nuff said. come to think of it, maybe i AM getting old. all the mags talk about the "marginal" cornering clearance on the FJR. well, i finally touched the left feeler the other day - but only barely - and have yet to touch the right. losing my touch, i guess. maybe i need a Gold Wing. i could get one in yellow... | ||

FMJ - May be a comfy ride but it's a frickin rocket! - definitely not an old man's bike. BTW had a gent in an Audi follow us for just a bit (for the few seconds he was within sight) on the Sierra Highway the other day. Ended up meeting up with him at the gas stop in Kernville - he was pretty impressed with the "angle" we had at two-up. | ||
