OK, that is some serious sport touring hardware. I am jealous. I have a plan to keep up with you though, involving un-plugged spark plug wires. About 3 of them. |

Jerry...Way to go!...Give John and Josh a buzz and they'll share all their farkles with you...John has his set up so that it is all day/all week comfy...I'm beginning to think the three of you made the better decision re FJR vs ST...And they are rocketships to boot...Have fun!... Bob |

Jerry, Have those New Yorkers started construction on the house site above Thunderdome yet? If its not too late, maybe we can buy them out and construct a Buell biker bar in its place. We would even let you Bago types in through the swinging doors. |

Yamamoto-San, Let us know when the Hurl Deck at the Lodge has been secured so we can make our reservations. We are only FIVE months out! To all Oktoberfast virgins who are coming for the first time: Montecito Lodge is a family oriented establishment adjacent to Sequoia National Park. Kids, wives, girlfriends, or SOs that aren't into motorcycling will have a GREAT time there with archery, astronomy, canoeing (in Oct, brrr), and riflery. Management wisely places us across the lake in an isolated house all to ourselves where the torture never stops. So bring yer girlfriend but make sure she knows that you have an appointment at the Hurl Deck while prepping for the following days ride. Tick...tock...tick...tock |

Just think, it would be a combination Buell Biker Bar and Bachelorette Party Palace located practically above your bedroom. BTW, Bagos would most welcome at the BBBBPP. |

ok, here's where we start taking this thing serious. it's time for anyone contemplating being a part of Oktoberfast The Trequel to ink your logding for the weekend. as a refresher: Friday night Sept 30 we're here at the Fabuellous ThunderDome, on the shining shores of Lake Isabella, California. come one, come all, bring a sleeping bag or bedroll if you can, the place is gonna be jumpin'. Fri night: free BBQ (if the local fire department turns a blind eye like they did LAST year...), free gourmet beer (for everyone except Scott Page...), Contest of Manliness (judged by Honorary Grand Marshall Sandblast), All Boston All the Time Sing-Along (by guest DJ Al Lighton), donations encouraged and gladly accepted, 100% to go to a worthy Buell-related cause. ($618.33 raised the past two years: in 2003 for the Daryl Levesque Memorial Fund, last year to Torqer and Shred to help get them back in the wind.) Saturday night and Sunday night 10/1 and 10/2 we're hunkering down at the Montecito Sequoia Lodge in Sequoia/Kings Canyon Nat'l Parks, and it's now officially time for you to secure a place there to call your own on those two nights. the number to call is 800/227-9900, and please ask for Christine -- she's expecting you. this WON'T get you a room rate break (it is POSSIBLE we may get a discount if we book enough people, but i'm not counting on it), it's simply so that she can try to keep us all in the same general vicinity at the lodge. strength in numbers, y'know??? when you talk to her please mention "Oktoberfast" and/or "Ferris Bueller" so's she'll know you're one of the "special" people. here's the deal with Montecito: it's $99 per night, PER PERSON. yeah, i know, it sounds like a ton, but that gets you the coolest place in the world to stay, AND all the food you can eat, 24 hours a day. that's right, all the food you can eat. this includes breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Main Lodge, PLUS 24-hour access to the kitchen for anyone needing a midnight (or beyond) snack. perhaps someone who stayed their last year could chime in and say a few words on the quality of the Montecito experience. it ain't cheap, but it sure is cool, and when you factor in that you won't spend a nickel on food while you're there (they even make picnic lunches to-go), it all pencils out pretty nicely. again, call 800/227-9900, ask for Christine, and mention Oktoberfast and/or Ferris Bueller. btw, Dandy's Cabin (home of the "Hurl Deck" ) is NOT available on Saturday night, but it IS on Sunday night. as such i've reserved it for Sun night, and on Sat night i reckon we can simply take over the lounge and drink socialize 'til our eyes bug out. me 'n D are in Sugarpine #134 on Sat night, for anyone wanting to either A) secure a room as close as you can to share in all the mayhem merriment, or B) secure a room as far AWAY as you can, to maintain some semblance of decorum and dignity. decisions, decisions, eh??? sing out if you have questions. Oktoberfast 2005 is a mere five months away. |

EBear, the Dandy is already booked (and paid) by another group for Saturday night, but we've got it for Sunday night. no worries as i see it: Saturday night our party can congregate in the lounge (close to the pool and hot tub) and then Sunday night at Dandy's Cabin will make for a very cool change of venue. sound ok? |

$99 PER PERSON?????? WTF? Why does it seem that everything in California is covered with invisible gold? Right off the bat, I'm sorry, but I can't afford this trip. I need to save my pennies for a 'Bago!!! I guess I'll have to settle for the BRAG ride in Colorado in August to get my thrills this year. Yamamotosan, no place is "the coolest" place on earth! I don't care how much it costs, the coolest place on earth is on the back of a bike, period................................. Sorry I won't be making the trip, I'll be watching for the pics with envy... BBB |
