Twisted Texas and Thrills IV ran sequentially in '04,; first Twisted, then Thrills. Some of us got to do both!

Rode outtta Austin alone (Sir Chadley was dicking with his Fly Ho) and met up with Robert "Special" K in Wimberly. We then headed south towards Boerne and Javalina H-D/Buell for BattleTrax! Picked up Blazin' Shane and ToddToo along the way. Here's the scene at Javeliva: Bikes waiting to be flogged by Reg Kittrelle: More Bikes: Again:

Reg givin' us the lowdown... Attentive pupils... And the winner is...(not me, though I think I had 2nd fastest time!) ...Laura Johnson on her XB9R! (you can see her, just barely, with the black and blue tie-dye, center back) She is also featured in the Streetfighters section of your Jan/Feb '05 Fuell magazine. Her times were most consistent through the tricky course (Damn you, Kittrelle!)

Peggy and Mary were on hand to pass out our BRAG packets with itineraries, etc. Javelina did us up right with Bar-B-Q, beverage and a free gift sack full 'o stuff and of course they hosted BattleTrax! Three cheers... O.K.! Enuf 'o this pansy- crap! Let's ride to the Y-O Ranch Hotel in Kerrville where they have drinks, fluffy comforters and hot tubs for tough guys like me! Arriving at the accomodations...Left to right: Robert "Special" K; don't know; James "WhiteTrash XB"; Snake. Left to right: Cosmic Carl (on his somewhat less recalcitrant Police Parade model M2); Sir Chadley; James "WhiteTrashXB"; ToddToo; dunno; dunno... HellBuellerthanyou (me!) trying to figure out how these damn gadgets work... Me 'n Snake checkin' out his wicked S2... (Message edited by buellerthanyou on March 24, 2005) |

Better pic of Snake's S2... A nice line-up... Rick and his bike have reportedly surprised many an inline-four at Texas World Speedway. I believe the word I've heard used was "smoked"!

Is this the doorman?!! Could this be the right place? Looks too fancy for us riff-raff... Oh...Wait...Yeah, this must be da place!

Yeeeeehaw! This place rocks! (in a western sense, that is). Don't screw up around here or you might get stuffed and mounted (I'd rather be screwed and wasted)! The Y-O Ranch is a working ranch that also provides big game wildlife hunting.

No, really, I mean it! Blazin' Shane says, "Enuf 'o this stuff...let's go ride! Here's a map showing some of the roads around Kerrville: These roads are more twisted than a rattlesnake at a squaredance! (huh?) Blazin' taming a curve... |

"What is this "riding" thing you speak of?" Sir Chadley wants to know! Oh yes! My prayers have been answered... "Does this make my a$$ look fat?"

It was a little rainy on day 2, but cleared up nicely after a bit. Hey, SH16 is more of a challenge (read "deathtrap" ); when it's wet! I think I'll pull over and dry out... Shore is purty, though... Let's get goin'! I think it's time for dinner! (Message edited by buellerthanyou on March 24, 2005) |

You think we gotta go through here to get back to the hotel? FM1077...the infamous "mud road" Let's go find out! Hey, it's not called a BRAG Adventure fer nuthin'! I know that Cosmic Carl and I told Peggy and Mary that 1077 might still be partially dirt, but it ended up on the scheduled route anyway. It does turn to dirt as it passes through the Hill Country State Natural Area. Add a little water and..don't say I didn't warn you! Some folks are probably still picking dirt out of their bikes' nether regions! (Not me! Sir Chadley and I went around!) (Message edited by buellerthanyou on March 24, 2005) |

Ya know, if you have a couple (or a few) too many drinks in the hot tub, sometimes regrettable things can occur. Here I am, powered up like an alcohol-fuelled dragster (you can tell because I'm glowing red hot!) and, with the promise of $10 (courtesy of Sir Chadley and Blazin' Shane), about to do something foolish. Kids, don't try this at home... Oh, the humanity..! The bet was that I had to ride all the way around the hotel without falling off or attracting hordes of gorgeous women (that second part was easy). Thank God it was the middle of the night! I made it! Hey, I think everybody should have a "spare tire", in case they get a flat (in my defense, I've lost over 20 lbs since this was taken). |

Whew! Thank God that's over! O.K., another day of riding, in much better weather, thank you very much! Pausing on a bridge over the Nueces River... Cosmic Carl says "Check out the river." Oooh! Ahhh! (Pretty cool lookin', IMHO.) On to the Motorcycle Stop in Leakey (pronounced Lake-y). Leakey is where Thrill In The Hills is based out of. You'll see those pictures in a minute (or tomorrow, if I get tired ).

Uh-oh! I think we're gonna be late for dinner at the actual Y.O. Ranch! Let's ride really fast (but not much over 100 ) to try and get there in time. Cripes! Missed the ranch tour bus...well at least we didn't miss dinner! Check out the Y.O. version of the Texas flag: Fly Ho gets her picture made at an historical spot: Let's have a look around...Oh wow! I feel really weird! Like we're going back in time or something...omething...thing... This must be how Buells looked in the Old West... ...in the rustic, pre-Harley days! No! No! Make it go away! } |

Looking out over the wild animal area from the party area around the pool: If you look verrry carefully at the center of this photo you can just see a giraffe. There were other animals visible from our perch by the pool, but they were too far away to be photographed. Here you can barely see the tour bus heading into the trees. The fact that we missed the bus may have been a good thing, as the only accident during the entire event occurred when the bus driver slid the bus into a tree! Anyway, the bus came back, we all ate dinner, checked out the gift shop, flirted with the gorgeous woman from South Africa tending the gift shop and headed back to the hotel for more drinks and hot tubbing (but no "full moon" rides!). |

Well met on 337! When our l'il group was headed East on 337, we ran smack into a bunch 'o buddies from Austin on their way West out to Leakey for Thrills In The Hills IV! We stopped to do the picture thing: EvilJay on his super clean '99 X1: RoyX1 with his cafe' fairing: DanS on his 883 Sportster S: Crashin' Chris on his Monsterous Duc (it really is monsterous; about 4 different colors, dents in the tank, 748 fender, etc.): Lootenant Dan, freshly back from his station in Spain (Navy) on The Butcher, probably the coolest M2 EVER!:
