I would like to take the time to compliment all the folks involved in making the All CA Buell Ride an incredible experience, but especially Leslie Prevish. She had every detail planned out and every eventuality planned for.Even when we had unseasonally bad weather ,everything went smoothly.
This was an EPIC ride. The best Buell event I have been on,bar none,in my 7 years of ownership. The riding was fantastic.Great food, great after hours enntertainment. The dealers(with the exception on Eureka)enthusiatic.Having our own mechanic following to take care of any little niggles was outstanding,Reggie was a great help to all who needed him.
Again,I would like to say thank you to Buell and Leslie for an unbelievably good time--and to Erik for making it possible.--- (Fireman)Jim Higgins,2-1995 S-2 Thunderbolts.

All,

These Buell Clocks are going for quite a bit of money. I bought one when they first appeared for $20. I got it in the mail yesterday. It is a cheap plastic KMart clock with a printout of the Buell logo for the face. Very poor quality. They were obviously made on someone's home computer. They didn't even bother to smooth out the edges of the poorly enlarged jpg they used. The poor quality of these clocks leads me to believe that Buell did not authorize the use of its logo or name, and is not seeing one dime of the money. I encourage anyone bidding on these to retract their bid, as this product violates Buell's copyright.

That ought to give the corp legal beagle something to do while she puruses the bike ads. If not then there is further evidence of selective application of their enforcement.
(Sorry, pet peeve of mine, selective enforcement of rules.)

This is the email that the seller and I have been exchanging.
I guess you have to start at the bottom.

This is cool! I've bought one too and given it to Aaron as a present!
I've also bught one that he's done as a Snap-On clock. I like this sort of stuff.
When I was a Snap-On dealer, another dealer made up a lot of unlicensed t'shirts and gave them to customers. I got one. When he got his arse kicked by Snap-On, it became my favourite shirt. I've still got it.
This is fun. Must be my Aussie convict mentality.....

Hootowl,
I have no problem with your point of view at all. You have done a service to everybody bidding by bringing the point up. Thank you.
My point is that it has just made these clocks more interesting.
Many years ago, my mother bought a painting from a door-to-door seller who gave her a card saying that he was unable to hear or speak, and made his living this way. The painting was of a nice peaceful scene and quite good.
It came to light later, that he was not as claimed, even though he had painted it. She took it off the wall and tried to throw it out. I kept it, because now, besides being a nice painting, it had something interesting also. A story.
I saw the clock on eBay, and did a "Buy It Now" for $19.99, thinking I'd give it to Aaron as a thank you for some things he's done for me. A fun thing.
A few hours later, another one appeared and I was a little disappointed. However, watching the bids over the next few days put a smile back on my face. Much more than I paid.
I started getting suspicious when I saw a Snap-On one also being auctioned, by the same person in the same style. I bought it though, after seeing the other auctions cancelled, but before I read here.
I'll going to wait and see what happens with the Buell ones before I pay for it.
But I still think it's fun.

Peter,
My last post wasn't a response to your post. You posted while I was reloading. Sorry for the confusion. And I agree, they are neat. That's why I bought one. They are worth 15-20 bucks just for their cool factor, but when the seller realized that they were selling, they took off the buy it now for $20 option and upped the minumum bid. That's just plain greedy. The "Authorized" on the face led me to believe they were clocks given to dealers by Buell as sort of a business gift at a dealer show or something. I was a little disappointed when it came and I realized what it was. I went to the sellers other auction page, and they were getting almost $300 for a Ferarri clock. Somebody's going to be pissed. I didn't know what they were at the time or I would have emailed the buyers on that one too. I have since found out that contacting buyers about an item is against the rules, and I may face expulsion from the eBay community. If I saved somebody some hard earned money and a little heartache, it will be well worth it. I don't think anything will happen though. The seller is selling prohibited items. I can't believe eBay would 86 me for mentioning it to someone.

I just got and looked at this clock that Peter bought for me (thanks mate). I agree 100% with Hootowl's description of it. Not at all what I assumed it was when I bid, this is a cheapo little clock with a home-made piece of paper stuck in it.

It's probably worth the $20 or so, but nowhere near what I was bidding on it. Thanks again.

Pete, I don't know if you remember, but the clock in my shop has been broke for years. This is perfect. Thanks.

I am hoping the nasty rumor that Buell will no longer be making tube frame models like the X1, M2, S3 now that the Firebolt is online. Does anyone have any answers to this and is there any truth to this. I've noticed that a lot of dealers are offering great deals on current models making it seem that they are trying to liquidate inventory.

Thanks,

Well thanks for confirming that for me Jim. Sad to here but maybe something will come about from the loss of such fun machines. What is the future of Buell after this? Interesting to see. Is Harley-Davidson going to start sticking their label on V-Twin powered sport bikes now?

July 16th - Buell has announced a press rollout of the entire Buell line. If like other things Buell it may be delayed, or so my dealer says.

Maybe 4.
Blast & Firebolt.
I've heard rumours of an XB-12 (Lightning replacement) and a stretched Firebolt chassis (M2 or S3 replacement?)

I really want a firebolt with oomph, but then again I don't really need another solo bike.

So, maybe the lineup will be:
P3 Blast
XB9R Firebolt (52"wb)
XB12R Firebolt Pumper (52"wb)
XB3T ThunderingBolt (55"wb)
and just to add to the speculative mood, how about a ...
P3R Blastard (Flat track format with a tube frame availble in limited quantities only and painted reminiscent of the old board track racers)

July 16th is a Tuesday, why on a Tuesday? Oh well.

How about SXY-T then? Then they just have to get the dual sport model rolling with the chain drive to avoid those nasty belt-busting pebbles, and their lineup will be good to go.

Hmmm, what would Buell come up with if they were to make a Paris-Dakar model bike, sans any H-D shackles.

Have there been any reports of "Falling off the sidestand" on new Firebolts? Mine did just that yesterday breaking the left side peg and clutch lever. I've noticed even in my near perfect level garage, the bike can be nudged into a dangerous situation with very little effort. It is like the stand needs to come down about another 10 degrees counterclockwise to be "safe".
