Checking to see if anyone here visits Badweatherbikers at all? Court is over on Badweb roaring about being the PREMIERE Buell site & how its stupid that you have to register to check out the forum here. Claims nobody from the factory "will ever have their cookies snatched here".
I asked him why does Buell advertise here, yet not on Badweb. No reply as of yet.
So who visits both sites?

I made one attempt to get in, but they said my credentials were'nt good enough. Besides, when Blake was here in the old days he just shot his mouth off in derogatory fashion, without even knowing what he was talking about. At least you guys present an informed argument. He's so full of himself anyway, there is hardly room for anyone else. Premiere Buell site indeed...

I don't bother visiting that site. It's far too difficult to use. The threads are all intertwined, and there is no discernible organizational hierarchy as far as I can tell. Court can roar all he wants, but this really is a much better site than Badweb. I mean I check out SacBORG before I go to Badweb. So no Dyna, I don't visit that site.

I do - the section in Badweather on So California is handy for the locals out here to get in touch but it certainly isn't the only game in town (SacBORG for another - plus some of the Yahoo groups).
Other than the Southern CA stuff that I go there for, it is pretty typical BBS-type forum.
I'd hate to see a pissing contest start - I know what you mean about Court however. Maybe I ought to read more. Our local BRAG chapter does its own direct emailing without bothering to use any particular website/forum.
I'll go check it out - maybe look at some postings of his. I can actually post a reasonably intelligent note or two (if I have to)
I paid the $$ to sign in here after lurking a bit - without a second thought.
You think that's bad though, try Cycleworld Forum. The American Bike forum is overloaded with thin-skinned Japanese bike advocates who just can't let go and always have to add their pee to the fireplug. I am tempted to go in and screw with these squids who keep posting in the American-Made bike section - overstating the obvious about horsepower numbers... the usual tired old sh*t - squids who can't make it through a day without pissing on the HD crowd (not like it matters)
Maybe I'll put on my fresh-from-prison alter-ego and look like I am trolling for some young fresh meat and then start claiming the little flamers as "MY" b*tches... telling them they'd look good in tight buttless chaps. (You know the old joke about "Japanese bike riders give better head ... ask any Harley rider.") THEN see where they go with that.
Flamebaiting... should be an olympic sport.
Maybe I'll post something today at CW-forum just to stir the squids up from the bottom.
As a scuba diver, you learn that squids either finish life as fish or shark sh*t or if they live long enough, blow their load once and then die. [ February 16, 2003, 11:58 AM: Message edited by: Slaughter ]

Agreeing with Golin:
They could learn some lessons about laying out the forums however. If you are trying to find something specific, you lose a LOAD of time trying to navigate -

If you do go there, look under the quick board topics & check out the one title something like "if you wanna talk about something else besides bikes" close enough I guess.
I like all the sites & hate to see one person roaring how theirs is the best or the other one sux. They all serve a purpose & they all have a fan base.
Cycyle worlds is ok, nothing to write home about. I check it out maybe once a month. Now if you wanna see some warped people go to Labusas.org
I know Mav sits there quite a bit.

I don't go there unless there is a link fron here or the Borg......if it's worth the link,it's usually worth the look and then I snoop around a bit while I'm there. The Borg is plenty entertaining and I check in a few times a week. ATC is a daily read and good info.A little more "civilized/ buddy buddy " here.

Zip,
Agreed. This tends to be pretty civilized, disagreements are handled then everybody seems to move on.
Also, ATC is a daily read for me... the other boards are where I go if somebody says something referring me to them (like finding somebody to ride from CA to WI for the Buell 20th).
I first heard about ATC on the Yahoo Buell board. Sometimes referrals are a good thing -- Especially when you are a newbie to all things Buell as I am (since last August when I got my '01 S3)

I spend time (prolly more than I should since I'm replying to this thread) at both sites and like em both. Who cares which site is better? We're all interested in the same brand of motorcycles aren't we?

I gave Erik his own ID, and he has posted here a couple of times. I'm the only one who knows who he is. So court your wrong buddy!!! Kind of sucks to attack other sites when your wrong. I also talk with alot of people at Buell. I also like reading Badweb, and Sacborg.
Best BORG on the web I'm not sure. Maybe, Maybe "NOT". The ATC forum gets about 5000 hits a week. The new Weather Report was well up over 10,000 hits last week. ATC is growing with 2 member sign-ups a week. ATC has the best sponsor package and more discounts for it's members then any other Buell web-site. Brag is the only Club that offers more. Last time I counted 15 advertisers offered discounts to ATC members.
Buell does advertise with ATC. I haven't seen them advertise on any other BORG groups. We had over 62 visits from Buell and mother ship Harley Davidson this month alone. I'd say were being watched. I guess ATC has proved it's value.
I've personally sold over 20 Buells accross the US using ATC in the last 4 months. I also sold about 5 used Buells this July before taking over ATC. This was just people calling me asking which dealers they should use or not use when purchasing a Buell.
ATC has helped over 10 people get what they needed in repairs with Buell Cust-Sevice. I failed on a couple of those issues. Sorry "DYNA". I did try buddy.
ATC is also designing web-sites for many of the sponsors and has already finished Yost Performance's new site which is live. I'd say for the group of guy's that took over ATC. Great job guy's and lets keep kicking some butt.
Again I'm a fan of all the major BORG sites, and have never or will ever attack another site. It's a low paying job done for the love of Motorcycles and Buells. I'll never attack someone else site. If that's what he thinks let him think he's the best. I've never met Blake or Court. Jay has told me there both great people and I value Jays words. I've placed calls to Court to share info, and have never gotten a return call/message. I won't even post on Badweb about his comments. I've got to much work and so little time to brag about ATC.
Court of anyine else is always welcome to ATC and can call us anytime for info we may be ablt to pass on. Got to go Erik on the phone... [ February 16, 2003, 06:20 PM: Message edited by: Ruler ]

I use the bad web to search for answers to problems that I'm sure others have had. It really is great for that, usually turn up a few relevant threads that provide some insight. There are so few places in this world you can get free advice that you can trust. the bad web is one of those places. They have an active classified section too. But, Dawg hit the nail on the head...Blake's ego is just way too big to make posting over there anything other than a hassle. My experience has been that he's wrong more than he's right. classic case of 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing...'
I do have to say that I used to enjoy this site more in the old days...a lot less BS chit chat, more talk about bikes. I am really sick of dyna's diareaha (sp?) of the keyboard posting. Only about 20% of the posts on this site are worth reading now. there should definitely be a rule against having some stupid picture of cats attached to every other post in every thread. It seems like the new mgmt is happy with the way things are going though, so that's good. Lots of new members is good. I guess i just don't like change.

Here we go again..this subject always pops up when people can't ride...
so just like most lame topics it will eventually fade away..
Slaughter- as a Diver too I love that quote..about the Squids...I'm gunna have to snag it sometime!...
I post here, and SACBORG way too much, Bad Web has always been too hard for me to navigate..I am such a simpleton..but I do cruise it sometimes and it is a good source for Tech. Info..but my favorite part of Motocycling is the social side, and ATC has filled this niche for me more than any other place..I ride to meet new people some nice some not so nice, some on Buells (most not on Buells)...besides riding a bike is the closest thing to Skiing REAL fast or Flying I can think of that I can do on an almost daily basis!
I think I will not even bother checking that thread over-there UNLESS they start calling me names

Dyna your just stiring da pot.
So Blake doesn't like to register...to POST ON THE FORUM IS FREE..YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF ATC...
the REASON WHY WE INSTITUTED A REGISTRATION POLICY IS TO TRY TO ELIMINATE STUPID "BUELLS SUCK BUY A HONDA" TYPE POSTS.
THAT SAID ..I am waiting for Dyna to post "Buells Suck (amended to MY BUELL SUCKS but yours could be OK), Buy a BMW mine fuhrer fo da faterland.

Since you asked, I visit all of the on-line sites daily, or list servers (that I know of) and find all of them useful (even as far back as the Ferris list-sever). All of the sites are or were ran by humans and visited by humans. Since the world isn’t a perfect place, personality conflicts will exist (of which I’ve had several). Some of these systems have defined goals and others do not. Some are commercial ventures and others are not.
Steve and José have done an absolutely incredible job designing DCBRAG. As a matter of fact, in my opinion, it’s the best-designed Buell site I’m aware of. Sport Twin has also come along way since its’ inception with a considerable amount of time and money spent on its’ development. Like Sport Twin, ATC too has come a long way from its’ inception with its’ overall well thought out format and drastically improved messaging software. Vik and Chop have put together a clean interface to the message board on SacBORG as well. Melonie and Corey XB9R home page also serves a purpose to those in the Buell community. Dave Gess is even trying playing his hand in supplying information to those interested in the Buell community with his home page. Over the years Blake and those involved with the Bad Weather Bikers have put together a strong very active and informative Buell technical message base. All of these sites have the abilities to improve and grow along with the opportunity to share information.
Having said that, I too thought it was strange to have to register to visit the new ATC site, but I’m still here and have been since day one. Having Buell advertise on a particular site doesn’t automatically make it a premiere site either, nor a better or worse site. On the other hand if they were actively and knowingly participating in the message discussion area, that’s a different story. As far as the cookies go, I’m personally not to found of cookies and that’s why I run a cookie cruncher on my system. I personally don’t value the number of hits any site receives, rather its’ message content and value to me.
In any case, everyone has done a wonderful job putting together their sites for whatever purpose or intents they have.

hey dyna, maybe you should re-read this a few dozen times:
"No bull, JUST BUELL"
Are you dyslectic? it isn't no buell, just bull, again, it's NO BULL, JUST BUELL.
I never said I "didn't like you" like you posted, I said I don't like your never ending blabbering, blubbering, bullsh*t posts. and, yes, i find that stupid picture at the end of your 1,000,001 posts very annoying. I've never met you, couldn't possibly say whether or not I like you. And, I know i'm not the authority here, just offering my 2cents. A good board does need new topics, etc. BUT, I think you need to remember too much of anything is not good. Get rid of the stupid picture and cut down on the BS and I'm betting you would make a lot of people happy.

I could care less about this whole debate about who's better shit!!! Trying to stir up the pot between badweb and ATC is (Sorry if I offend anyone) IS GAY!! In my opinoin badweb has a bunch of members that need an "attitude adjustment". I don't visit anymore and don't plan on it. Just because it's free to be a member doesn't mean it's all good. I would rather be a paying member here and enjoy being here with good people (and get 10% discount ) rather than being over THERE and listen to all the BS (oh...I own four buells so I'm better than everyone else) And NO I'm not talking about Aaron...that man has a lot of good info and and knowledge he has shared Scott, Mav, and everyone who has made this site the way it is....I give you a standing ovation (HOO.....RA....HOO....RA..... ) And as for the "post whoring", I too agree with AnonymouX. If you don't have anything worth saying. Keep your gums zipped. "Your doing too much of this ....and you should be doing more of this " !!! I personally check out all the sites on a daily basis. (not that us sponsoring has anything to do with that) But seriously, there are great things to be learned at all the sites. I was just rummaging through the archives at Badweb, and wow there is alot of great info there. But I also think that the people here (and the other sites too) are great and the more opinions you can get are "usually" a good thing.
Ok, im done.

I used to surf both sites but stopped lurking here daily after the forum change and quit checking in periodically after Jay left. I fin the the tech info on BadWeb better and with the "New Messages" function it's easiest Buell forum to navigate.
>I guess some folks may have to re read that a few dozen times
So Dyna, other than trying to stir up shit, do you do anything constructive? Like Annony was trying to say, your signal to noise ratio is pretty much all noise.

I visit and like both sites. BadWeb has always seemed more technical and less social than any sites and I like that. I didn't get into motorcycling for the social activities. I also like ATC though. It also has a pretty good tech section. It's a lot smaller than BadWeb's right now but that is not necessarily a bad thing. You don't have to wade through thousands of messages about rocker box leaks for example.
The bottom line for me is that I enjoy both sites and I don't take any of it too seriously. Blake's ego doesn't bother me and Dyna's crazy threads are sometimes fun to respond to. If there is any BS on either site I just ignore it and do something else with my time.

I've been on Bad Web for years now. I find it good for certain things but mostly just stick with the storm fronts, NW section, (WA, ID, OR, B.C.). If you notice the counter on that, it is at 1330 posts. The only msg counter that is higher is Uke's club.

Scott bought this UBB & it has the feature of including pics & sigs, some of you choose not to utilize it & thats fine. I put a pic of kittens you bitch, I had the pogo girl & the juggy girl & you bitch, there just is no pleasing you.
The kitten pic symbolizes my inner struggle with Buell, on the one hand I like the looks & handling of the bikes & on the other hand I really hate the unreliability of my bike. Quit worrying about my damn pic. If Scott has an issue with it than he will ask me to remove it.
Then you have the folks who basically cry about "post whoring", once again..what difference does it make to you how I choose to waste my time??? [ February 17, 2003, 01:50 PM: Message edited by: Dyna the pot stirrer ]

I like to lurk on all the Buell boards. I tend to find myself spending most of my time on BWB. No particular reason. I think it's mainly because I personaly know a number of the people. It has also been the starting point of many great activities (Team Elves, Buell 20th Anniversary).
Now days, my time on SACBORG has decreased (too much time wasting stuff). More time is now spent here instead.
BTW...PLEASE check out the 20th Anniversary thread. I've included phone numbers for room reservations.

Dyna, no luck at the swap meet yesterday. Only found two sets of chromed lowers and both were junk, IMO.
On a second note, can you use this picture?

SacBORG: It's not just for Buells anymore
We get over 1,000,000 hits a month. I'm betting ATC's numbers are higher (much) then Scott estimated.
