I've installed Sumax rod covers. Good thing you don't have the instructions as they have nothing to do with their product!!!!! It's tough to get the tops of the tubes through the o-ring at the cylinder head. I've tried putting a chamfer on the leading edge at the top of the tube to get them to slide in a little easier. Not sure if it worked though. Might just have been all in my head. Check under the coupling to ensure that the o-ring between the tubes is not F'ed-up (found that twice). Had problems with the diameter of the lower tube fitting the stock H-D seal. Permatex is good if you're careful, but the NRHS single piece clamp kit combined with the kit's included seals works best at supporting the lower tubes and eliminating leaks. ping me off line if I can be of any help (Message edited by craigster on February 26, 2005) |

I put them on my S2 and they were a pain in the A55 to put on, Craigster is right about the instructions and I didn't have issues with the top tubes in the heads. Thanks for the info on the NHRS single piece clamp kit, I didn't know if they would work with the different size lower tubes. (Message edited by azbueller on February 27, 2005) |

Just a quick comment, I found the NRHS billet clamp kit much easier to fit by supergluing the seals into the clamps with a little bead of glue where the OD of the seal changes. Otherwise I had the seals extruding when I tightened the clamps down. Very nice looking kit when fitted though. Steve steve_s@ukbeg.com www.ukbeg.com |
