For those who want something a bit different, and have always wanted to scare some traillie off road types, how about one of these babies? We will be importing the frame kits into the UK soon to enable owners of redundant XL/Buell motors to have some serious fun! Frame kits will be available in either basic (frame & swingarm only) or rolling chassis (everything except the motor) spec, and I'm sure we could work a deal on shipping to the US too The whole bike weighs in at 30kg less than an XB9 and has a whopping 290mm ground clearance! Forks and swingarm are from Yamaha YZ MX bikes. (Message edited by trojan on January 13, 2005) |

This caper has me wondering where one might find a disused Norton featherbead frame. A NorSport (NorBuell?) would be definetly on the cards. Cool looking bike, Trojan. Too bad I'm such a shortarse, I'd have one. Bob |

I was just thinking about something like this the other night. Ducati took their 900SS and 'jacked it up' to make the Elephant. BMW made that Paris-Dakar replica. Figured it wouldn't be too difficult for Buell/HD to do the same with a Buell. The engine does have some advantages over the BMW mill (narrower). The Elephant isn't made any more. The BMW sells well. Decent sales also for the Triumph Tiger (better in Europe than the US though). So what $$ range is this kit? |

LOL, the seat looks comfortable. I would defiantly be interested in sticking a blast motor into that frame. |

very nice trojan. what does wheelbase measure? i have a 1458cc sportster engine crying out loud for a liteweight chassis. the rear wheel and tire assembley alone weighs 42 pounds on the sporty. stock frame is 46 pounds. it would be fun to build a dirtbike with 100 foot lbs. |

Frame kits will be made in Luxembourg by a guy who has been racing the predecessor to this in off road and beach races for the last couple of years. Wheelbase is 1585mm seat height is 910mm (not for the short arses) No prices as yet because the prototype uses some massive machined billet mounts at the swingarm and headstock that are very expensive to produce. The commercially available kits will be produced by a cheaper method to bring the prices down.

I was wondering if you could sneak that thing in Motard trim into the AMA Super Motard "Unlimited" series... It would rock. |
