I've been lurking around Ebay just looking for now at S2s when they come up. But while lurking I went over to look at the Busas and noticed a lot of them being sold out of Canada for real low prices. Newfie nothing against you or yours but this looks like a scam. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4508429928&category=50030 |

You mean just the fact that the "bike" is in Canada and all service is performed in Florida? Or 2003 Suzuki : Hayabusa : GSX-1300R HAYABUSA US $ 4000 Starting bid US $400.00 History: 0 bids BUY IT NOW !!!!!!AT US $ 4000 ,THE BEST U CAN GET!!! Hmm, starting bid is $400, no buy-it-now (or any bids listed) yet they refer to $4000 twice. Register then if they send an email offering to sell it direct for $4k WesternUnion report them to eBay. |

Unfortunately I can not register for Ebay where I am at right now. Hell I'm surprised that I can even view ebay here. That particular Busa for bib was just an example of what I was noticing. There are a couple of other Busas with low "buy know" amounts supposedly coming from Canada. Any scam busters out thier want to take a shot at this? The scams on eBay for motorcycles are everywhere.I have seen them in every brand but the newer hyperbikes are especially prone(Hayabusas,Gix 1000s,etc)I saw one day where the same bike picture was used in 3 different ads for Hayabusas. They are all SO obvious because the prices are way below even the most farfetched good deal as to be stupid. Some talk about things that are not on the bike at all and most are in some foriegn country and list free shipping. What a bunch of maroons, and when they cannot even spell correctly,jeez--- |

Yeah the spelling is one of the first things I noticed. I have not been to Ebay in awhile. Did not realize that the scams where getting that bad. I wish you could take all those people out back and give them a good whipping. |

You should see them go at auction. It's crazy, I've had them auction for near $30. People just don't check prices. (Message edited by 99buellx1 on November 30, 2004) |

Beware of another Ebay scam. A Marine working for me tried to sell his Dodge truck on Ebay. The person who won the bid was from "Australia". Buyer Sent a cashiers check for well over the amount of the vehicle, about $4,500. Buyer gave a story about previously winning a vehicle bid but the seller sold the vehicle localy and buyer had already had the check cut. Everything appeared to be legit. Long story short: your supposed do deposit the check and send the extra back before you or the bank realizes that the cashiers check is bad. Luckily the bank called my Marine to stop him before he wired the extra money back. |

I have, with one small exception which was easily rectified by serving legal papers on some unsuspecting parents, never had anything but wonderful experience with e-Bay. I buy everything from motorcycles ( 2 of them ) to my last new IBM ThinkPad which I bought from IBM's e-bay operation. Same common sense applies as if buying anything..... |

I have found ebay to be essential for finding those hard to find parts, like a carb for my '73 kaw F7 enduro, or little parts for my '70 BMW 1600 car, or replacing the LCD screen in my sisters old Toshiba 460 Satelite pro. Ebay can be great, its just common sense and watch out for S&H charges...lol |

Aside from the usual array of useless stuff, I have bought both my Buells on ebay without a hitch. |

I have bought stuff (thousands and thousands of bucks worth) and never had any problems - BUUuuuutttt... when it came to vehicles, they were bought from somebody close enough to go inspect - and in the case of the S1 racebike, was bought from Hal's Racing. Would never consider buying a vehicle from somebody unavailable for "eyeball" inspection. Camera stuff I've bought has been after reviewing references... yeah there's some risk but it's all worked out well. Even done some classic camera buys from Germany using http://www.freetranslation.com |

I have bought clothes, guns, motorcycles, motorcycle parts, bicycles, tools, electronic gear all kinds of stuff on e-bay. even bought parts on ebay from members of badweb. Vehicles and hi dollar stuff I go look at first. I bought 2 trucks off ebay that turned out to way over represented, so I passed and told the seller why. Had no negative feedback from those 2 deals. |
