He is divorced from my mom. I can tell he misses her though. When I lived at home they didn't do much but lately have been taking my little brothers to dinner and have been nice to each other. Would have been nice if they were nice to each other while I was still there but oh well. Anyway a few years back my mom crashed her sportster and sold it. Her lifelong friend just bought one and now she has been talking about getting one again. My dad told me that he is gonna surprise her and buy her one with his bonus this year. Pretty cool huh. Maybe we can get a Buell for me thrown in the mix. J/K about the buell part but I thought my dads gesture was pretty cool. Don't you guys agree? |

Greg...Sounds like your parents have a great relationship and your Dad is a real stand up guy. Sometimes it takes a divorce to get folks to realize how much they are still in love. Heck, I new a gal that married the same guy three times. They are divorced again but living together in adjoining condo's. When things get terse they just split up for a few days until things blow over. Unique relationship, eh? |

All the best for your family it nearly gave me a warmnfuzzy moment reading your post. My ex wife doesn't ride so there's no point in giving her a scoot, a steamroller though...... hmmm if I set it up right it could look like an accident. |

It's good to hear a divorce story that doesn't end in bitterness. I wish them both well. |

Ditto that. I'd also admonish that finding satisfaction in the misfortune of others is a sickness and a sign of pettiness and pretty much just plain evil. |

Misfortunes of others?? We'll see how his opinion changes if he ever goes thru the agony of a nasty divorce. Easy to sit on the outside & judge others when you havent gone thru it yourself. |

It's your own fault, Dyna. You just went about it the wrong way. Instead of gettin' married, you shoulda just gone out and found some woman you can't stand, and bought her a house. No hassles. |

One might want to consider how one's children will feel should they ever read or hear hateful dialogue aimed at their mother by their father. I've seen the results of this type of vindictive hate agenda. It is evil and only serves to harm the innocent parties, the children. There is no excuse for such behavior and I have no problem calling attention to it. Lose the hate. Seek the light. |

My kids are in their 20's & 2 of them already have kids of their own. Believe me, there is nothing I have typed here that they havent heard directly from either of us. I seriously dont think im going to upset their "virgin" world too badly. |

Your Dads gesture is VERY cool. Apparently your mom was cool during their problems and didn't try to take him to the cleaners or leverage the kids. Power struggles like that create feelings like Dyna has earned. Sounds like 2 mature adults both trying to do the right thing. You might want to talk with him about his intentions though. It's possible he could be setting himself up for a heartache. |

No my mom just wanted to keep the house cause she makes nowhere near as much as my dad. I thinks he hated that house anyway so it was no problem for him. But no one went to the cleaners. And they both have equal custody of my little brothers. I guess it could have been worse. |

Grandkids get it too. Just a sad bad thing all around. Excuses don't cut it. Lose the hate. Shun the negative, recall the positive. |

No hate, just no feelings at all anymore. I treat her like a stranger & its gotten a lot easier since she just took off for the east coast a couple weeks ago. Kids are pissed that she just up & left to go back to her 2nd husband who left her 3 years ago. So myself & my kids are on the same side, good fighting an evil satanic witch. |

>>>Lose the hate. Wise words and a fitting compliment to my old standard "nice people always are". I've had several experiences that have brilliantly illustrated how fragile and short our time stirring dust on the Mothership is. I offer no advise and personally subscribe to no more than the desire to love someone, cherish friends and be amazed daily. Aaron's "go toward the light" is a good way to live. Court |

Greg, how is your relationship with your other siblings. When my parents divorced, my brother and I put aside our differences and have become best of friends for the past 20 something years. Can't never express the little things my younger brother came to me for advice on. Kinda gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling also. VERY good thing your father is doing, all things aside, your brothers and you have two great parents! |

Well I live 2500 miles from the rest of my family. I have always gotten along with my little brothers though. They are 12 and 15 so it is hard to have a relationship ending disagreement with them. They also seem to look up to me for some reason. My mom keeps telling me that they want to do this and that because I did it. Poor kids, I am their influence? But yeah, I get along with them just fine. |

I understand the influence thing. I taught my brother how to ride motorcycles when he was 16. Now he can't wait to get on the XB--NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Hate to break his heart but there are some lines that can't be crossed That is cool that you get along with them. Keep up the good influences. Moms seem to understand all that stuff a little bit better than we do. |

U4euh, I came home from work early and couldn't find my 16 yo son. Then I couldn't find my X1. 10 minutes of thinking of how I was going to strangle him and get away with it, he comes putting in the driveway with the Oh shi look on his face. After seeing him, wareing out my vocal chords, and being glad he made it back alive, I paid for the riders edge course to get his licence. F'n kids will kill you! Take him to the Buell shop and ride the Demo before it's too late. |

Man, o Man, couldn't stop LOL. I bet your stomach had to be picked up and put back into place! That is about the same feeling I had the first time I watched my brother disappear out of site whenever I let him ride my NightHawk sport, then again a few years later on my CB1100F!! I like your idea of the riders edge course. I havn't taken it but I was required to take the Motorcycle Operators Safety Course when my father was stationed at FT.Sam Houston,TX. Might be a good thing for both of us to go together. As far as the demo ride, Myrtle Beach rally is coming up in a few months, hmmm you got the gears a turnin. Talk Later, JIM |

Sportsman I guess I was lucky that when my mom had a sporster she did not mind letting me ride it. Just as long as she was there. Don't tell her but a few times I would ride around the driveway and parking lot next door. When she was home I could take it all around as long as I did not go on the highway or busy roads. |
