That's funny..., I've been thinking about getting a Sportster to keep my Buell company. |

Welcome to the Buell family. Nothing like them in the world. Some try but just can not get it right. |

Just like the sporty except that it accelerates, handles, turns and brakes. Congrats! JT |

i have a bunch of fun on my XB12, but i AM keeping the sportster for when i need a dose of acceleration to scare the ______ out of me. i know if i ever sold the sporty i would regret it for the rest of my days. |

with a 52 inch wheelbase, it would be physically impossible for the buell to accelerate close to the rate of the sportster. |

You gotta be kidding me??? My last 2 bikes were Sportsters and they don't compare to the power and acceleration and handling my XB has!! I have no regrets trading in my latest 2003 Sportster 1200C for my buell! They suck in every way compared to this bike!! |

If his Sportster accelerates faster than his XB then it is not a stock Sportster. His profile mentions a 89ci Sportster. |

>with a 52 inch wheelbase, it would be physically impossible for the buell to accelerate close to the rate of the sportster And wheelbase has what (directly) to do with acceleration? All of my v-twin buells will out-accelerate either of my previous sportsters. |

My ignition coil melted in 2 places on my latest sportster...hadda get towed...The thingy that retards the spark in the carb went....hadda get towed...Anytime you past 70 the vibration was enough to loosen lotsta stuff! The damn bike was only a year old!! Regretted getting rid of my CBR but really wanted a V-Twin....Got a Buell....Happier than a pig in 5h1t now!! Stupid Sporty.... |

And wheelbase has what (directly) to do with acceleration? Come on Josh, you dont need a lesson in physics do you? I guess those guys with the Busas that have lengthened swingarms & race at the strip obviously just wasted their money? |

Aha, the semantics game. I'm good at this - the lengthened wheelbase will give a more stable launch, what with weight shift and other math thrown in, wheelies, and stuff, allowing the bike to use more of the available horsepower earlier from a standing start, but that's different than just plain old acceleration Do I get a cookie? |

I've owned 9 Buells and a ton of Sportsters (including an XR1000 and XLCR) and have never ridden a Sportster that coudl touch a Buell. Well...there was the one, but I find the claim in conflcit with my experience. Just my $0.02. |
